I hate to be a downer, but those are classic signs of miscarriage. I don't much about where she could go to see a doc other than Parkland. Hope all turns out well.
Hi Moms,
My little sis who is 22 just found out she is pregnant. She's already called the Medicaid office to start Medicaid but needs to see a doctor ASAP due to bad cramping and light spotting she is having.
My OBGYN would not see her for another couple of weeks and she is trying to avoid having to go to the ER.
Do any of you know where she can go to be seen by a doctor who will be reimbursed by Medicaid or see her with no insurance w/out having to pay a fortune?
Any ideas will be greatly appreciated and she lives in Mesquite
Thanks Moms!

I would definately go to the ER asap!! I know it is a bummer running up ER bills, but they would be able to see her NOW and then refer her to a dr that will work around pending medicaid. It is probably her very best option in these circumstances...
Hope this helps and I hope all works out well for her in the long run!!!

PS-if she is approved for medicaid, they will back pay all bills she incurred for the pregnancy...I wouldn't worry about that end of it and get to the ER asap!!!!
Cramping and light spotting are perfectly normal in the first trimester.
If she gets approved for Medicaid, they will pay three months' back of medical bills, so if she does go to the ER and her medicaid is approved within the next three months she won't have to pay anything.
She could also try Planned Parenthood; I'd rather go there than wait for hours in an ER. I know there used to be a Planned Parenthood in Mesquite across the parking lot from Babies R Us, next to a salon. And please don't think they'll try to "talk her into an abortion"...no matter what people say, that is NOT what they are about.
I'd also go purchase "What to Expect When You're Expecting" for your sis!
I had medicaid when I was pregnant, don't worry about the doctor bills medicaid will pay three months back from the day your approved. She should go in a soon as possible, if the ER sends her a bill afterwords she will just have to call their billing office and give her medicaid number once she gets her card. Hope this helps, best of luck!
