sorry!
I got my hair dyed light brown this morning and I put my hair in a pony tail. I realized that the top half of the pony tail is strawberry blonde or light red. The bottom half is the color I wanted. I'm freaking out! Does anyone have experience with this? Thank you ladies, K.

Go back, and have them fix it. Make sure it's someone else. Preferably the highest person up with the most expertise and authority!!
If its a DIY job, call the manufacturer, i.e. the clairol help line. They will really help you get it right.

You didn't say what your original hair color is. Everyone is very different. With me, I have a natural hint of auburn in my dark brown hair. After trial and error, when I dye my hair a light brown I must use an "ash" light brown. The "ash" helps avoid the reddening in my hair. So I don't use a regular light brown but an "ash light brown". And some brands will show a hint of red more than others. So it's trial and error. I tried the new Olia brand. I really liked how the color turned out but it didn't last nearly as long as the less expensive brands. They used to have a line just for Brunettes and that was the best but I can't seem to find it now as they like to change lines, colors and packaging to keep up with each other in the ever changing hair dyes.

It's because the top part of everyones head is lighter then the bottom part of their head (hair wise). The top get's more sun so it tends to be more 'bleached' out. If you did it yourself go back and get the next shade up, but only dye the lighter portion. the next time around you should get a more even look using the same color all over the head.
Now if someone else did it, they should have noticed. It's not always easy to tell who's hair will do this and who's hair won't, but she should have not let you walk out the door like that.
