I used to put the thin receiving blankets down like a sheet under the baby in the bassinet part of our pack n' play
I plan on having my new baby, who's due on the 23rd, sleep in our room in a playpen with a newborn napper (the kids will be sharing a room so I figured it would be easier to keep the newborn in our room until a sleep pattern is established and they get use to one another). My question is what to use as a 'sheet' for the napper? It comes with a great cover, but I don't want to have to wash it a few times a week and would prefer to have something else to give the baby something clean to sleep on. What have other moms used? Or did you just wash the cover it came with?
Thanks, S.
Thanks for your great ideas, I've decided to use the extra receiving blankets I received. I have sheets for the bassinette and playpen parts, so what my mom suggested is that we take receiving blankets and sew elastic around them to make sheets for the newborn napper part. Now let's hope the baby doesn't come early so she and I can sew them next week :-D

I used a reciving blanket and I "wrapped" the napper. This way I did not have to pay for the sheets (I found they were pricy) and I was using what I had. I just made sure the blanket was wrapped each time I put my son down.
Pillow cases work rather well.....
They sell sheets for those at babys r us....but I just put a nice soft thin blanket underneath my daughter and tucked it under that mat so that it didn't come up. I thought it was warmer that way....
I used a recieving blanket also. My daughter didn't like being wrapped and we didn't buy a cover for the playpen. We had to make sure we kept things clean somehow. It's so much easier and faster. I'm short so it's difficult for me to change the sheets on the crib/bassinet. I just lay a sheet on top and grab it whenever it needs changing. Worked great since I can put all the sheets together once a week and wash them with her clothes instead of washing the cover every few days.
No matter where my boys were sleeping, I put down a receiving blanket. It was so much easier to just swap it out than have to launder everything (and I was never without clean receiving blankets. In addition, I put a cloth diaper under their heads. It made it easier when they drooled or spit up to just swap out the cloth diaper.
I used change table sheets; cotton and flannel ones. I had a bunch for the changing table anyway, and with the elastic edge and I didn't have to worry about it being too lose. The changing table mattress sheets wrapped around and stayed in place quite well.
