My playgroup used to have only three children but since last Christmas we have grown due to some of us having 2nd children and adding new people. My question is do you have any unique ideas we could do for Christmas besides the usual drawing names?

What can I do next?

I am hosting a Christmas party for my plagroup and we will be decorating Christmas ornaments for each of the kiddos to take home. Rather than doing a gift exchange I have asked everyone to bring an unwrapped toy to be donated to the Marines Toys for Tots. I will also have goody bags jam packed with lots of fun stuff for the kiddos to take home. Everyone gets to have a great time while doing something great for the community!

How about your playgroup adopt and angel, or two, from the Salvation Army Angel Tree and everyone bring something for the Angel(s). Then you could make a craft together and have goody bags for everyone. A fun craft that we have made in ours in "reindeer food" and it's oatmeal with colored glitter in a ziploc baggy with a cute poem(you can find it online). Or perhaps decoate gingerbread boys/girls. HTH, have fun.

Maybe instead of giving gifts, you can have a fun outing to the zoo or something Christmas-y. With our playgroup, we just draw names and buy one gift and have a party at our meeting before Christmas.

I do children's stuff-your-own animal workshops. I would love to conduct your playgroup activity. You can check out my website at: www.everafterparties.com or www.noahsarkworkshop.com/stephaniehill4180.

We have many cuddly friends that are available, including our Christmas friends, Ginger (Gingerbread friend) and Rafael (Reindeer). We also have Christmas outfits for each of the animals! :)

The kids have so much fun, hand-stuffing and naming their new friends. They also get to wish on a special Wishing Star, which their friend keeps safe and sound inside of them. They'll also receive a birth certificate for their new friend, with the name they've chosen for them. It's really a site to see their little faces light up and they create this beautiful new friend!

Please, feel free to check out my site(s) and contact me if you have any questions. Have a great day!

The kiddo's in our playgroup are between 18months and 2yrs old. Last year everyone brought a wrapped book and we made a pile on the floor. We let the kids go and they chose the wrapped book of their liking and tore in to it. It was so much fun last year that we are doing it again this year. We also do a cookie exchange (or baked goods). Everyone bakes their favorite sweet treat and puts them in 12 bags since their were 12 of us and included the recipe. All the momma's got to take a ton of treats home. We are also bringing a wrapped gift for our own child with a label saying our child's name on it and from Santa. Santa will be visiting and passing out gifts. Can you tell we all love Christmas?
