i have added tiny bits of warm water to it. it makes it a little slimy at first until it gets worked in, so you might want to put it in a ziploc and add the water and smoosh it in the bag. like no more than a table spoon of water at a time. it won't get it back to completely like new but it will satisfy a kid that needs something right now until you can get to the store and replace it with fresh.

or cook up a new batch of homemade playdouh with flour and cream of tarter, just google and you can find lots of recipies

I've never revived it once it went dry. I tried a number of things and none of them worked. I just throw it out.

I've heard of wrapping playdoh up in damp paper towel then into air-tight Ziploc bag. I haven't tried it myself because I tend to just biff it and make my own in a pinch.

I've never found a way. My daughter even tried soaking it for several days, first in water and then for some reason in milk. Just made a mess. Part of it did get gooey but that is it.
