I have a pole ivy that is no longer on the pole. It's more of a "puddle" ivy. It was climbing up my bathroom wall, but the painters had to detach it when the room was being painted. I'm fairly certain it needs to be re-potted, too, but I'm not sure where to start. I don't have a green thumb, and the only reason it's doing as well as it is, is because it's in the bathroom, and there's an east facing window. Any suggestions on how to tame it, and get it growing on the pole again?

What can I do next?

J.,
I believe that you have to go to a plant store and get a special pole for that ~ something that is porouse. (spelling?) I tried growing one with and broken broom handle, (no laughing please!) and it was a puddle too! Then I got a special pole and it did just fine.
Good luck,
Deborah

Definitely provide it with a larger pot and fresh dirt. Then, simply wind it around the pole as it was before and at the top of the pole (or wherever the end of the ivy winds up to), secure it with either a rubber band or string or tie of some sort.
If you need help doing this, I'd be happy to show you. I'm an avid plant person (hosting plant swaps twice a year).

Best of luck,
Jen

Trim and tie into place til it re-roots it's self on the poll. Must me nice mine always die. It might need re-potting also.
