Hi Ladies,

I need some ideas! I really want to surprise my husband this december for our 10 year anniversary. We very rarely get to go away together without the kids and I would love to plan a short get-away for just the two of us. I really don't want to break the bank so I'd rather not go somewhere that we need to fly but I don't mind driving a little. I'd really be up for anything so I'd appreciate all ideas!! Somewhere romantic would be nice but there has to be things to do also. We get bored just sitting around! Thanks so much in advance. Oh, by the way we live in Maryland, close to the Delaware line if that helps!

What can I do next?

Oooh, lots of options! What about something on the Eastern Shore? My husband and I had a mini honeymoon in St. Michael's after our wedding. It was great! We stayed at the Five Gables B&B, great restaurants, beautiful town, excellent for strolling and window shopping.

Congrats!

I just map quested where you live and WOW you have so many wonderful options. What about VA Beach, Hersey PA, New York, Nigra falls. These will all be cold places since it is December. You may also be able to find a great get away to Mexico or a cruise for a reasonable price if you look around. I so wished I lived where you do.

CONGRATULATIONS ! ! ! I'm glad you are wanting to celebrate.

You didn't say how short is short.

Baltimore has a port. We've sailed out of Baltimore on a cruise to the caribbean. We were gone 7 to 9 days. We had a wonderful time. There is always something to do on board or in port. I don't remember how much it cost, but we usually get a cruise for $1000 to $1200 for the two of us.

Good luck to you and yours.

How about taking a cruise out of Baltimore? If you cruise in December while school is in session, there will be way fewer kids than usual. Look into Royal Caribbean as I know they go out of there and so does Carnival.

Also, NYC is a great few day trip and you can easily drive. December is a great time in NYC but it's crowded. So go during the week. Also, I sugest that you priceline a 4 star hotel and put in $100 per night. You'll get something good!

Enjoy whatever you do!

You guys live right near me! This would be a bit pricey in December (although no flight required) but I would totally go to NYC. That way you can go to Rockefeller Center & skate, there are a zillion restaurants, go see a show, window shop, etc. etc. etc. The nice thing is since it's not that far to drive you wouldn't need to worry about losing a whole day of your trip to traveling as it's under 3 hours each way.
