I am taking a plane trip with my 7 month old in 2 weeks and am looking for any tips or tricks that have worked for other moms to keep their little ones entertained on the plane/in the airport.
After writing my request, I noticed that this topic has been very popular lately so I want to update it since I cannot figure out how to delete the request.
I guess I am looking for toy/entertainment ideas that are compact and have worked for you. The creative/original ones sometimes are the best.
Thanks again and sorry for the somewhat-duplicate question.

What can I do next?

My son loves pop-up and flap books so I brought three small ones we have and we kept reading those over and over and that helped on flights we've been on. And you can't go wrong with lots of interesting snacks. And he loves playing with our cell phones.

My daughter loved playing with tape at that age -- I would stick short pieces to her fingers and she would be fascinated with how it kept sticking to her (I'd remove it, of course, if she got frustrated or started to put it in her mouth). I kept a roll of masking tape in my purse for this purpose, it worked at the grocery store too! She also liked paper that had been crumpled slightly. She'd wave it around and tear it and generally have a blast with it. Small bottles of bubbles, like the ones for party favors, were also great. The plane trip itself will be pretty exciting for her, too, especially if you spend a lot of time talking about what's going on and what you see out the window and that kind of thing. And I always made sure to nurse during takeoff and landing to help keep my daughter's poor little ears from getting too pressurized!

I don't know about toys (not a mom yet) but I travel a whole lot and I have seen that on some airlines, the front row (emergency row) sometimes has a fold-down table that come from the wall, where you can snap in a cot or a seat for the baby and be more comfortable and have more room... ask your airline if they have special seating arrangements for moms with babies, it might make for an easier trip.
