If abortion is not an option then you should research HOW the Plan B pill works. IT IS THE SAME THING as an abortion~ just done at home w/out the stigma. I truly hope you will look this up and reconsider.
Hey Mothers,
I know its weird being on a mothers website and asking this question but where else should I go. Has anyone ever tried the morning after pill (Plan B), is it effective and would u recommend it. What other alternatives are there if any?
My husband and I aren't necessarily planning to have another child right now and abortion is not an option, so I am opting for the Plan B contraceptive.
So ladies I am relieved to report that there are no babies here because I am now having my monthly cycle. Whew! I really dodged that bullet/baby.

Hi! Coincidentally, I was just at my obgyn's office today, and asked him about it. I am 32 weeks pregnant now...so it was a far off question...but for future reference, I wanted some info. We are not ready for either of us to have surgery...but we think we might be done having kids after this baby. I do not want to be on birth control..so we will use condoms. My dr said that if a condom was to break, that you must take the set of pills within 72 hours of intercourse..and that it is about 75% effective. My next question was....if it is not effective, will you give your child birth defects. He replied no. Hope this helps!
Just food for thought before using this product again in the future:
You clearly state abortion is not an option. And, while PlanB is not a surgical abortion, it does cause a healthy, fertilized egg to be aborted from the body. Planb just prevents implantation. By most definitions, expelling a healthy, fertilized egg is an abortion whether it's caused by medication or surgery.
I say this not to be controversial...but if your values and belief sets don't agree with abortion, then this product is something you should not be using.
Im curious why you would not consider an IUD or the pill to prevent pregnancy, rather than take a pill to spontaneously abort IF you get pregnant? (No judgement here) Talk to your doc about Mirena. 2 Minute procedure to implant, you can take it out when you are ready to get pregnant again and no side effects. Please reconsider "the abortion pill" as it CAN'T be safe to put your body through that on a regular basis, whether you are pregnant or not. Again, no judgement. I'm thinking more of YOU than the abortion issue here. Good luck.
I have not heard good things about it, but have never used it myself.
I took it in college, so it was many years ago, lol!
I didn't know I was pregnant- just that I had unprotected sex (I think the condom broke) and so I took it 'just in case.'
It made me feel ILL. But nothing worse than a bad case of a stomach flu (naseous, etc)...
plan b works but it is not a birth control. i used it when i started my birth control but my birth control was not effective yet. no baby here. it did make me a little naseous. when you buy it it will come with a bunch of literature to read about it.
it is most effective the first few days after sex.
