My family will be visiting Toronto for about a week in June and we are looking for recommendations on places to stay (general areas or specific hotels) and things to do with a 7-year old, 4-year old and 2-year old boys. Hubby has a hockey tourney in the Etobicoke York area so we need to be within a half hour or so drive of that. Thanks!

What can I do next?

Just to on line and look. The one thing that I thought was a blast was Toronto Island. oMG what fun. You take the ferry. There are no cars on the island and there is an awesome amusement park. Like going back in time. My husband and I had a blast. Such a safe place and safe rides! A must do, IMO. Toronto is a big city. Was not thrilled with it. Just head out of the city. I know there is a great zoo. You can also go to Niagara Falls. Lots to do there. Maid of the Mist, the Tunnels, and I think another tour is available too.

I second the Zoo. There's also a fantastic indoor food market where you get can any kind of food you want for lunch/dessert, etc... We had a great time there just sampling things and walking around.
You can take a tour of the baseball stadium, and there is a restaurant in the CN Tower there that rotates. Pretty cool and yummy (although a bit upscale). You can also go outside at the tower and enjoy the 360 view of the city and water.
Love Toronto!

The Beaches (that's what the area's called) and Toronto Island. I don't think you can stay on Toronto Island, but it's fun to take the ferry out. It's a 15 minute ride. There's an amusement park on Center Island, and a residential community on Wards. It might be fun to rent a bike on Center. Just ask anyone where the beaches are. Take the streetcar out there.

The beaches are pretty.

The Hockey Hall of Fame is there. Not sure if your kids share your husband's interest, but at the very least, your husband would be interested. I'm a hockey fan and that's on my must-see list if we ever make it to Toronto.

I don't know about places to stay - since we grew up in Western NY we always did day trips.
Toronto Zoo - a LOT of walking but it's great!
Ontario Science Centre - lot's of fun
African Lion Safari - keep your car windows closed and follow instructions - see if you can stay to watch the elephants go take a swim in a lake - they LOVE it!
If you're going to be there a whole week you can drive an hour to see Niagara Falls - see the falls, the Niagara Parks Butterfly Conservatory you could do Marineland but that's a whole day (lot's of walking) all by itself.
