I have a ton of old clothes that I can't fit into any longer and wanted to see if anyone could recommend places to take the clothes to sell them. I don't really want to try craigslist or ebay and was hoping that I could get rid of some for better prices before going the garage sale route.

Thanks in advance!!

If they are high end, you could try a consignment shop.

Otherwise donate or freecycle them, or sell on craigslist or ebay. Don't assume those options won't bring a higher price than a garage sale.
You're gonna have people offering you .50 for a pair of jeans!

Try a consignment store. But unless the stuff is particularly desirable it can take a long time to collect from them. You might want to at least try Cragslist. You could sell the lot for a set price and be done with it.

You'll probably get the most bang for your buck by donating them to goodwill. You just list the "market value" for each item, and you get back 1/3 of that in your tax returns if you document it correctly. So, for example, a nice used winter coat you could value at $20 or $30, and you'd get back $7-10. I can't think of anyplace or anyone who would give you more than that in cash, unless it's really high end stuff. "Regular" clothes just don't have a lot of value, used.

Sorry, I know it's frustrating. Good luck.

The Clothes Mentor in McKinney will take nice, only slightly used stuff--but they are pretty picky. They will give you cash on the spot, much like Once Upon a Child or Kid 2 Kid will for kids' stuff. They are in the shopping complex at the NW corner of 75 and El Dorado. I mostly use them for BUYING nice clothes at a fraction of the retail cost!
