They're common. We didn't treat ourselves or our youngest and no one got them but my oldest. Wash all her bedding, blankie, stuffed animals, etc. in hot water and make sure that she's washing her hands well and under the nails.
Okay so my 3yr old daughter has pinworms.. the doctor told me to hav her take one pill and again in seven days... but when I looked around I saw that everywhere else is saying 2 weeks and thaat they are suppose to treat all family members and she did not. I have a 5mo old. Also still seeing worms in poop! Other opinions or experiances?

My daughter got them twice and no one else in the family got them. We only treated her with the magic pill! We followed your Dr's orders with the pill one day and then 7 days take another one. I think she was 3 the first time and maybe 4 or 5 the second. She was a HUGE thumb sucker so I think that was the problem w her.
Good luck and yes, they are GROSS!!
Very very contagious, get to the doctor again and have al the family checked out.
I took my son to the doctor when he complained of an itchy bottom they gave him the pills n took a stool sample it came back negative for the worms but noone else in the house had any problem we never treated anyone else he still complains and all i can think is pinworms but never see anything and after he comeback negative once i cant say he has them but he is the only one in the house that complains of an itchy bottom
I had to deal with this about a month ago. My 5 year old had them. The doctor gave me medicine for her that she was supposed to take one pill then and one pill in 2 weeks. Plus, he gave me enough medicine for everyone in our household to take.
The pills cleared her right up. If you are still seeing them, I would definitely take her back to the pediatrician.
Good luck!
