Pink Food Ideas

My mom is planning a "Pink"party for me since I am having my first girl after three boys. We were thinking of doing most of everything in pink. We need food ideas. We will do M&M's on the table. Probably pink punch. Thinking about potatoe salad and dying the mayo pink. Chicken. Not sure about another side and a desert or two. So all you creative ladies any suggestions? I looked online and didn't come up with much more than desert and drinks. Thanks in advance.

What can I do next?

My vote goes for raspberry or strawberry cream cheese muffins. Chocolate dipped strawberries (use white chocolate with pink food coloring). Strawberry ice cream. Salmon and or ham tea sandwiches. Smoked salmon, cream cheese & crackers. Mini bagels with pink/strawberry/cherry cream cheese.
Strawberry, banana salad (can add grapefruit). Pink cotton candy.
Celery with pink cream cheese. Fruit kabobs with pink fruit dip.

You could do poached chicken breasts (easy, you can do well in advance) with a raspberry sauce or chicken salad with strawberries (or red grapes). I would personally not eat mayo that was dyed pink. You could do a pink and white theme - that would get you out of foods being a strange color.

Do you like beets? Roasted beets are delish, so is borscht. (okay, deep dark pink, but still) or a beet salad with watercress and a blood orange viniagrette?

What about smoothies with cherries/berries or some kind of milkshake for dessert?

I have seen very pink borscht--trying to recall if all you have to do is puree it, or if you'd have to mix it with milk. (I used to work in the kitchen of a Jewish nursing home, so I can't remember if it was only when the residents poured their milk into the borscht that it turned pink, or if it came from the kitchen that way...lol).

Do a marinara/alfredo dipping sauce for... something... (toasted ravioli?). When you mix the two sauces, it turns pink and is delicious!

Obviously, not everything has to be pink, but as long as the theme is still clear, it should be fine.

for foods that are on the savory side,
watermelon, feta and red onion salad with balsamic vinegrette
strawberry mango salsa with jalapenos
roast beef and horseradish open faced sandwiches (roast beef medium rare is pink)
I think pink potato salad with pink mayo is a little weird, but if you were to use russet potatos, and the ones which are purple, and red onions (german style without mayo), you'd get the pink effect you are after without being too fake.
ham, and a lot of other sandwich meats are pink too.
If you've got a grill or sandwich press, consider paninis made with ham sliced really thick, like 1/3 an inch or so, top apples, honey mustard and swiss. Use a substantial hearty bread like a ciabatta, or pumpernickle rye.

Congrats on the little girl you have on the way

I had a Pink Partylite party...and had strawberry wafers, dyed my dip pink (and put them in red bell peppers)...and did cake with pink frosting.

i think the dyed pick food a bit weird...potato salad with red potatoes, tho, and chicken with a berry glaze, that'd work. congrats!
