Piercing Her Ears - Where to Go?

My daughter is approaching 4 months and I want to get her ears pierced. I have even purchased little diamond studs for her, but haven't had the guts to take her to get them done. Could you please suggest a place to take her (that a teenager isn't doing it as some mall kiosk). Thanks in advance for your help

I got my daughters ears pierced when she was 4 months old. I went to Claire's and they did a great job. I was nervous but was relieved when I met the person who was going to do it, it was not a young teenager :o) My PED wouldn't do it and none of the higher end jewelry stores I went to did either...I searched around and still ended up at Claire's. My daughter reacted the same as she did to shots at the Dr's :o) Good Luck!

Go to your peds or call around to find one who does it.
If you live near the West Bloomfield/Novi area, Dr. Park-Davis and Dr. Syed offer that service if you don't want to go to Claire's.

hi D. !

this article made up my mind for me. the guy who pierced my dd's ears w/ a needle at a tattoo parlor had been doing it 7 yrs, was certified and had apprenticed for another cpl of yrs. i felt much better about that than a girl working wknds in the mall using a gun she can't clean properly ! good luck in your decision.

Claires does a fantastic job - I had my infants done there.
All Claires have on very trained person I highly recommend them count on spending about $25 for a great set of earrings and the piercing is included as is antiseptic.

I got all 3 of my girls done at this jewelery store in Dearborn. He did a fantasitic job. I had all 3 of theirs done at 3 months. Unfortunately, the diamond studs cannot be put in until 2 weeks after the medicated ones are put in. Don't be in too much of a hurry to put in expensive earrings, I did that first mistake with my first daughter. Lost 2 very expensive pairs before she even reached a year old. Good luck on whatever you decide.

My Pediatrcian's office does ear piercing. I'd ask to see if yours does also.

I'm pretty sure her pediatrician will do it for you. I'd ask. That's where my friend had her daughters done.

I really don't know where you could go. Maybe call some nice jewelry stores and ask if they pierce ears. However, I have never heard of anybody having issues with getting their ears pierced at a mall kiosk.

Check with your pediatrician, some will do ear piercing in the office.

Many pediatricians perform this service now. That's probably the best place to go for an infant. If your pediatrician does not do it, ask him/her about a practice that does.
