Does anyone have any feedback on Pier 1 furniture? Particularly living room style pieces? I am looking at a loveseat that is on sale but the website does not provide customer reviews and I always read them before ordering online. Anyone purchase one? Wondering how it held up

What can I do next?

I've never purchased anything from Pier 1. However, my girlfriend worked there part time, and has a lot of their stuff. It looks nice. I'd have to ask her about the quality.

I'm talking to her now - it's good quality - whether it will last 25 years - that's another thing. She says expecting 5 to 10 is about the length of its life.

Pier One has some neat looking things but I personally feel they are not made to be used on a daily basis.

If you are looking for top quality.... NO. Occasional use... maybe. Shorter life span... yes.

Our daughter chose a chair from there that she loved and that chair did not last through the teen years and she is not hard on furniture.

As long as you are ok with purchasing something again in the near future, go for it. Just remember that you get what you pay for.

I prefer to buy one piece of top quality furniture one time and then be done.

Example... I am just now replacing a Natuzzi leather couch and seat that was purchased in 2000. We bough the couch, chair, loveseat and 2 ottomans for about $3500 in 2000. We are moving the loveseat that was hardly used upstairs to a guest room and the ottomans will stay in the family room because they match the new custom leather furniture we are getting.

I don't like buying furniture over and over again.

I don't have any chairs from Pier 1 but I do have my tv stand and a lingerie chest. Each are beautiful pieces but I also have a cat that is infamous for scratching the nicest of furniture I own.

For the prices paid both are still well worth the price. The cat is retired and no longer worth the food I buy her but she's family. LOL

We have a Pier 1 store here. I have sat on the furniture -- hard as rock and not as comfortable as rock.
