My kids are begging for a picnic in the park. Think i'll make it a dinner picnic so hubby can come. Don't want to cook much (neither am I paying for take out we ate out last night). Need some ideas. (to complicate matters, we eat mostly vegetarian and healthy).

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

peanut butter sesame noodles
steamed green beans
maybe a peach cobbler if i get the energy to make it,
cut fruit
(did I say I didn't feel like cooking? I often say that, but then my option is to to eat like crap or eat something that doesn't sound good- so I cook)
thanks for the ideas.

I would probably just do sandwiches/fruit/chips/yogurt. Very simple. Me and my 3 year old have "picnics" sometimes inside our house - we put a blanket out in the living room and sit on the floor to eat. He helps me in the kitchen and we put all our food in a basket to bring it to the living room. Pretty funny really - he is only 3 and thinks its so cool :)

My family and I are what I consider to be 'grazers'...meaning we munch a lil' then go about our business, come back grab another bite, and so on...so for us I would do a bunch of finger foods.

Salami & Cheese (obviously you can omit these:)
Apples
Grapes
Pears
mandarin Oranges
Olives
carrots
pickles
cauliflower
broccoli (I have kids that like these raw? Weirdos!)
grape tomatos
Hummus & pita/naan
goat cheese & baguette (put in tupperware & drizzle w/honey)

Stuff like that?
Easy finger foods and dips are my 'go to' easy foods, especially when and if it's H-O-T!

Fried chicken from the deli, or wings, fresh fruit, chips and cookies...keep it simple. Good luck!

We like homemade burritos cold. Just ref beans, cheese and then what ever veggies/sauce!
