Hello ladies, I'm not married have a new house and had my 1st Christmas in it last year...I wanted to share my finally finished home by sending a photo style Christmas card to family & friends of myself either in front of my tree or some sort of holiday backdrop. Is that lame since its just me? I'm wondering if I would LOL if I got this from someone, please be super honest and spare me lol Also thought of doing a collage type with pictures from our eventful 2010, sister got married, i turned 30, 1st newphew turned 1 year etc...Thanks!

What can I do next?

I think the collage idea is fabulous. Your new house can be the "star," and you can share all the year's happy moments. :)

If you decide to do a family collage make sure you get permission first. Even though it may seems innocent some people are picking about have their pictures being distributed. I am not sure what kind of personality you have but maybe send a picture of you standing in front of your house in a Funny outfit, your halloween costume, Santa Clause or something that will poke fun of yourself. I understand how you think, you and others might think of it as lame, so make it super funny. Kinda like yeah its lame people send out a card with a picture of themselves on it so I am going to really exaggerate this card with a picture of being doing a cart wheel in front of my new house to show how head over heels I am! Good Luck! Hope this helps.

Hello,

By all means, yes! If I were the recipient of your card, I'd want to know about your new house. Would you be able to include it somehow on your card?

Doing a Christmas card the way you think is nice is NOT lame. Christmas cards are a way of keeping people in touch with what is new with you, and a new house is a wonderful thing to share!

Merry Christmas, and congratulations on your new house!

Best wishes,
L.

I like the idea of a collage. I don't see anything wrong with sharing 2010 pics with your friends and family. Congrats on your house and have a great Holiday!

You bought a house, that's freaking awesome! I say take the photo of you outside the house and send it...if people don't like it, who cares! You should be super proud of yourself and your new home!

You should definitely do it, with your house in the background. It's a great idea!

I don't think it is lame. I have a gay male friend who is single and he sends us a photo card every year, usually in some far off land, holding a koala or something. I think it is great that you are pleased with your house and you want to share that with everyone - get a prominent feature of the house in the photo and send a little letter. I wouldn't do the collage, those things often require a magnifying glass. Just a single shot is great. Merry Christmas!

I agree with the other responders. You should do it! The collage sounds good, maybe having you in front of your house as the biggest picture. It's your life and I think it's thoughtful and important to share it, whether you're single or not. Good luck deciding!
