Hi,

I'm making a photo book for my sister for her birthday with pictures of her from when she was little till now. I was wondering if any of you have worked on a similar project and if you have any ideas to make it fun/memorable. Did you use any poems - cool titles - any suggestions on naming the photo book. Anything at all - I know there are a lot of creative moms out there and I definitely do not fall in that category :) . Any help or suggestions would be great.

Thank you in advance!!

What can I do next?

My friend that did our wedding pictures made mine. It has a quote from the scripture reading which I thought was really nice. Then it just said what was going on from time to time. You could start each age with a different quote from the time or distinct memory. There wasn't a lot of words in it but then it is a picture book so that is okay.

Before you do picts maybe sit down and think of family stories and stuff you remember about her. then look through the picts and see if that sparks more. and I wouldnt' caption every photo but at least 4 good memories would make it super super sweet.

I would just title it with her name, or if she had a nick name i would do that.

Like someone else mentioned, I have made several using Shutterfly. They turned out great, and the quality is fabulous!

I too use Shutterfly. As for creativity.... does she or your mom have anything you can scan in? Old report cards, saved art work any type of paper thing - cards, notes, old homework etc. I'm making one for my daugher (b/c I've stopped scrapbooking) for her 5th year and I scanned in her letter to Santa before we sent it off, along with several other things.

You can order those things where it compares the prices of lots of things from the day they were born. Mine is from Hallmark and it's called The Birthday Times. If you Google "the birthday times" you will get an idea of what I'm talking about.

If you are looking for poetry any Google search "poem about sisters" or whatever you want will help you out. And of course, personal memories of the pictures you are using.

Great idea, good luck!

If you have the pics digitally you should totally do it on line!! It's so much easier! If not, I have made lots of photo books the "old fashioned" way ;) and they do look cute if you add in little extras like quotes or old "artifacts" from your/her childhood like any cards or notes or magazine clippings or stuff like that. I use lots of different background paper too, scrapbook stores have such a wide variety now! Have fun!

Reach back in your memory and use funny things that happened, stupid sayings, a silly face one of you made, something that reminds you of her, reminds you of your childhood, your parents (sights, smells, sounds, that kind of stuff).
