Hi all-- Looking to 'finally' put our kids birth - present photos in albums - not scrapbooking, just albums 4 x 6 photos that have maybe a line to write name of event. (OK - our kids are 10 and 12 yrs and still no photos in albums.... better late than never.) Has anyone had a good experience ordering albums from a company that carries the same album (basic black for example) for years? Thank you in advance. P.S. Most of our pics from my kids' ages birth to 9 for the oldest are in old-fashioned 33mm rolls already printed ( before the fabulous days of our now good 33mm digital camera) so I really need recommendation for true blank albums for my many boxes of pre-printed photos. Unless, of course, at some point, I have a company scan the 1000s of pics - rather not spend that $$ right now.) ** Thank you!!***

---A mom who is way behind and looking forward to catching up before my kids don't care anymore.---

What can I do next?

I have been keeping photo albums for close to 30 years, and have tried many different types.
Over the years I think the best albums are the ones with horizontal slots for 2 4x6 pictures on the left, 2 on the right, next page, etc It is in a 2 or 3 ring binder and I have bought them at Target.

My kids still think the best "albuns" are pictures dated and sorted in photo boxes, that they can look through at their leisure. I have them sorted and separated by year, but since they are all individually dated it doesn't matter if they get mixed up.
What I have actually done is have 2 sets of pictures made, on for the album and one for their boxes. Good luck!!

Hi Karen -
I don't know if this will help you if you've got hard copies of pictures, but I do my kids photo albums on KodakGallery. I do one for each year, and have done 5 now, always getting the same album every year. When I take the digital pics, I upload them to Kodak's website and then I can share them with friends and family. Then at the end of the year when I make their albums, you just drag the pictures you want into the pages. The quality is great, and it is nice to get bigger sizes of some of the pictures. Plus, I don't have a million pictures floating around my house that I need to organize! Hope this helps.

Hi Karen,

AS time goes by, there are more and more places that offer this service. However, I have stuck with Snapfish because I have always been pleased with the outcome. In fact I just received an order from them in the mail yesterday. I've never had a problem with the company. You basically do the samething it sounds like for all the companies that provide this service.... upload photos to the website and click and drag to make photo albums, calendars, mugs, t-shirts. Many, like snapfish, let you create online slideshows and photos to share with others. (and that's free to do.)Then grandparents, etc... can view them and order whatever ones they want to.

You're right ..... it's better late than never! Kids love having photo albums of themselves- it brings back good memories for them. Have fun. If you need help... Snapfish offers live support via on-line. (I'm sure you could call, too.) but I've just chatted online when I had a question.
