Has anyone ever been prescribed phentermine, only to gain back all the weight after stopping it? I don't know if I should ask for another prescription... is there anything that work similar - keeping you energized while suppressing your appetite? I eat healthy, do moderate exercise, and I have hypothyroidism, which is the cause of my weight gain. I can manage my weight if I take Phen when I feel I am climbing up in weight, but that is not the solution. And I refuse to buy phen from the internet its ALL fake. You do need a prescription for this.

Anything else out there that might help that you have tried and works?

What can I do next?

I dropped 60lbs in a year and then gained it all back over the next two :( Now I am back down 10lbs on my own, and it gets harder every year, but honestly it's worth the slow, progressive loss on your own then the crushing feeling of failure having lost all the weight and then see that number on the scale again so soon :(

You won't like the answer but it is healthy eating and regular exercise. If you eat about 1500 calories a day and get moderate exercise 4 times a week you will lose weight. You need to count calories and write it down. You have to cook for yourself and not eat out. It is simple science and it works. It just isn't easy. Once you are at your goal weight you will need to eat a specific number of calories a day to maintain your weight. If you go back to eating what you did before you will gain it back. What you eat is much more important that the exercise. But, if you work out and build up lean muscle you will burn more calories while at rest which will help you weight loss. Then, obviously cardi work outs (spin class, jogging, etc) will also burn calories and help with weight loss. Good luck. I know from experience it isn't easy and there is no easy solution like a pill. BTW I have tried phentermine in the past as well and gained back all my weight. If you don't change your habits, that happens.

I had it, loved it, lost it, gained it back. My dr told me the point is to help curb your hunger for 3 months. Apparently they only allow a 3 month prescription. In that 3 mos you are supposed to put new eating habits and excecise in place so that when the script is over, you're stomach has shrunken and you're in a habit of eating small healthy meals and excercising. I kept it off for a while, but pretty soon I went back to eating hot wings and drinking beer, so, I gained it back and more :(
