Hi,
Have you tried Dawn dish washing soap and water in a spray bottle? It seems to work for everything bug related. Hopefully it will work and save you some money.

I need to know of a good pest control company.
I have tiny gnats in my bathroom window that don't do anything buy create a nuisance on the window. Don't even know why they are there. Regular bug killer isn't cutting it.

When we bought our house (built in 1977) we were not used to seeing any critters since we previously lived in new construction condos and a townhouse in the City. In the 1st year we saw spiders of all sizes and colors, earwigs, things with a billion hairy legs in the basement and even mice! There were also hornets outside that had built a nest behind on the shutters. We have a young child so I did not want anything harmful wiht respect to fumes and such. We use Pointe pest control (you can google and read about them). They use all natural products and for real.... after them being here, we have not seen 1 spider or anything else for that matter. We even had mice traps in the attic for a year and never caught a thing! They have a great guarantee as well, so that after they spray inside and out, if you see any bug, they come back for no charge.
You may not believe this, but a surprisingly effective, chemical-free and cheaper method is to go to the health food store and buy peppermint and citronella essential oils and either put a few drops of each on a cotton ball and place on either side of the window sill or just place a few drops of each, about once a week or more if needed, directly in the window sill. They HATE these oils and will stay away.
There's a natural bug repellant spray out there for the skin called Buzz Away and it has these ingredients in it. My mother had the biggest swarm of gnats in her backyard one summer and no matter where you stepped you would eventually find yourself enveloped in the swarm. I finally got out that spray and sprayed the cloud of bugs--it was the only thing that worked! THis method also works in the kitchen in summer when ants come in. Tested and proven! Good luck!
we use hansen pest control in bolingbrook... cant see why they wouldnt come to your area. they come 4 times a year, its reasonably priced - they will do inside and outside. we have not had any need for them to spray inside, but since they have been coming we no longer have bee's/wasps/yellow jackets making nests on or around our house. they spray any problem areas in your yard at no extra charge too. the stuff they use is safe around kids once it dries so i dont worry about that either.
Do you have live plants in the house? If so, this could save you some money! Our pest control man at the office told us to let the plants dry out before watering. He said the gnats are from the fungi in the soil because the soil is always moist. Good Luck!
Rose Pest Control in Villa Park. Google them.
Melinda,
I've never been on here before. How fun to give/get advice from others! Well, I've been shopping at an online/catalog company for about 2 years now. They carry safer and LESS expensive products than in the grocery store, such as non-toxic cleaning supplies, vitamins/weight loss items, cookies, crackers, cereal (similar to Kashi but less expensive and more fiber and whole grains), pharmaceutical items, natural, safer make-up, etc... and they have some REALLY neat ways to get rid of those pests! I don't sell these products (it's not a multi-level company with inventory), but I love referring others. We have an older, historic-type home in West Chicago, and I got rid of a whole bunch of bugs last spring under our front porch with these cleaning products. They really work! Let me know if you want more information! It's a great store!
Hansens Pest Control in Bolingbrook is great. They come out 4 times a year. I have no ants, bug, flys, mosquitos all summer. Which is great because I have 2 little ones and we play outside a lot on the swingset and trampoline. If you have any problems, they come out for free as many times as you need. I had a mouse this winter and that was included. They were here as often as I requested, because I'm paranoid...just checking the traps for me. I think the cost is $80x4 times a year. They charge all at once or quarterly. Highly recommended. K.
