Ok ladies I need some advise and suggestions. My Lovely 4 year old was playing in my car and took a peminate marker (Script). She was told to put it back where she got it from. Which daddy and mom thought she did. Well to our surprise she didn't and instead when she got bored with her coloring book she decided to write and draw all over my car door and window with it. Well I tried Fantastic and it made the drawing on the door lighter. Its on half leather and half plastic. It came off the window. Than I tried Hairspray, Goo gone, shout, and tide stick and nothing. What do you suggest to get this off? My husband says this is my fault.
Magic Eraser by Mr. Clean. I use them for EVERYTHING!

Avon skin so soft works on everything. including removeing tar off cars. you may also try oven cleaner. for I used this on my son's new coat to remove grease and oil. which worked very well.. good luck! hope one of these two items does the trick..
Try rubbing alcohol. I know it gets many things out and has taken permanent marker out of clothing for me. Be careful if you decide to try nail polish remover as it may melt the plastic.
Have you tried the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser?

Majic erasers!! Friends of mine ran into this in their basement... the twins opened a pack of sharpies in Daddy's desk drawer. Hit the computer, desk chair, walls, and desk.
The majic eraser took it all out!!

Use rubbing alcohol. It works very well. I got ink out of my new leather sofa. It'll take a bit of time if there is a lot. Dab it on a cotton ball and rub gently on the ink. IT should come right out. Good luck.
I got sharpie marker off of white Karate pants with Murphy's oil soap and a scrub brush. It takes some work but it is gone completely. I would try that. I scrubbed and rinsed several times, so be patient

Try one of those magic erasers. Should at least work on the plastic part.

Have you tried the Magic Eraser sponge? (I think that is what it is called). I have used it to get marker off of my walls.

K.; time might be the only removal of ink in a car, dont play the blame game things happen, we all want a nice car, a nice dining room table, a nice carpet, nice walls, sometimes things happpen , and things happen cause we leave things in places and someone who dont know how to use it uses it and the effects usually are bad, the best medicine is take a picture of it, and when she is older you can show her what she did, and lock up all the permanent markers. my kids under their bunkbed drew a line in ink across the bottom of the bunk on the wall, when i moved it to paint their room was this beautiful ink line that would not wash off nor would it paint over, i painted that spot maybe 8 times, it repelled the paint every time so they had a nicely painted wall with an ink line running through it, oh well , we have had other mishaps, most of them in the home are forgivable but in a car we seem to get rubbed the wrong way with it, just hang in there and do your best as a mom as you are, oh and just for advice crayons left in a hot car can do some damage too, most the crayons built today are not to melty though, and put car seat in middle they cant reach door and stuff but they may be able to reach ceiling, either way you may of had a mess on your hands, she could of carried into a store and marked on clothes or something , just be thankful you got it before it got too bad, i know its bad enough just hang in there and enjoy life, and let the bad stuff be gone, D. s

Gee, that's helpful. Doesn't that just get all the pen off the car, now that you've had that sorted out?
Whenever my husband would come up with helpful commentary like that, I'd say 'well, I was just lying there, so the kid is your fault entirely, making everything she ever does 100% your fault.' I object on principle to the blame game and will leave aside everything else we were talking about a minute ago to make it very clear that I'm not having that conversation at all, ever.
Besides that, I'd like to add a little more perspective to the conversation --directly at your husband, if that's possible: if your child died of leukemia tomorrow do you think that what you'd do with most of the next day is make sure every marke she made on your 'valuable property' was deleted completely?
Is this a big deal, really? Did anyone die? Limbs torn off? Entire vehicle now completely destroyed and can't be driven?
Seriously. Some things are important enough to make people feel bad about themselves... is the upholstery in THIS car worth making a 4yo feel like a monster? Or a mom feel incompetent? Or break up a loving marriage?
Seriously. Get a grip.
p.s. Was the hairspray aerosol? It's the butane in the aerosol, not the hairspray itself that acts as a solvent on permanent marker.
Take it to a detail shop and see if they can help you out!

Men & Women can be so competitive, my husband told me not to wash (our daughter's) coat, which had paint all over it, because he could get it out. He sprayed it with Break Cleaner, all the stains came out. He works for a Dealership, say's thats what they use inside of cars to get things out. Best of luck to you, and having the child, your fault too, so when she does someting great, thats your fault too, you are her mom lol.

Have you tried blotting the stains with rubbing alcohol and a white towel? I used this trick when my son took a sharpie to our green antique couch. It got the all of the black sharpie marks off the couch and did not fade the fabric.
Just remember, as you are blotting the spot, when black ink comes off the fabric and onto your towel you will want to move to a clean part of the towel, wet with alcohol and keep blotting.
It will take time, but should do the trick.

Should've taken it away instead of telling her to put it back. Then you should've used it yourself on 'Mr. It's All Your Fault'. At least have something justifiable to be blamed for. That's ludicrous!
Have you tried WD-40? I've heard it's fantastic at removing stuff.
You could try rubbing alcohol. It kind of is you and his fault though - if a 4 year old is playing with something dangerous or that could harm something, why would you not just take it away or WATCH to be sure it was put back where it went and make sure she can't get it again? I'd say, you may have to just live with it at this point. I'd suggest putting all permanent markers and paint up away from children's reach. Not trying to be mean, just things happen and you'll have to just learn from them!
Oh - and I'd have to tell him that it's just as much his fault as yours - they're his kids too! :)
This is no joke. As I was reading your question and some of the answers, my 2 yr. old took a black crayon and just colored all over my living room walls. Not as bad as the permanent marker I know, but now I have to go get the magic eraser and start cleaning. KIDS!!!!!!!!!
I don't know what kind of interior you have, but nail polish remover will take it off. I has to the stinky kind with acetone in it, but that has always taken off perm. marker for me.

Try alcohol for this.Comet or Ajax cleanser might work also.
