i am on the pill and i am very bad at taking it, i hate the pill but its all i can afford... ugh..... anyways.... so i dont remember exactly when the last day i took my pill was, probably like 12 or 13 days ago....
so on friday, i think i get my period but for 3 days all i had was VERY light discharge........ not really even enough to be a period....
ive been under CRAZY stress lately, so i think that might be it... but stress has never affected my periods....
so my question is Does stress really affect your period? or am i crazy?
what do u guys think?

What can I do next?

Not taking the pill consistantly and on time will wreak havoc on your body. Breakthrough bleeding, abnormal discharge, and other side effects will occur if you miss pills. If you are that lax with it, I would suggest another form of birth control, or safety precautions. Stress does indeed factor into a irregular period as well. I would talk with your Doctor and see what would be a better solution for you.

I suggest another form of birth control. Yes stress does affect. /but just being off by a few hours on taking the pill can make it like taking a sugar pill. Can you do the depo shot? because if you last took your pills that long ago it sounds like you are trying to have another child.

You might try the patch or the Nuva ring, both are changed less often than taking a daily pill. I used to be bad about taking pills so I set my cell phone alarm to beep every day at the time I needed to take my pill, maybe that would help.

Yes....stress can and will affect your period. But, please go to the gyn and get another form of birth control!!! Its obviously NOT working for you. There are lots of choices and if you can't afford them---there are clinics/places that will give them to you for free/sliding scale. Don't let finances get in your way of getting the RIGHT birth control choice for you. You deserve to be protected and to have faith in whatever you choose.

If you don't do something about your b/c, you will become pregnant.

Best wishes,

M

Yes Stress definitely affects your period. I'm not sure how healthy it is to be on and off again the pill is. You really should look to other avenues.
