So I was off my Period a week ago today.

This morning I woke up with horrible cramps and have since started to spot like I am starting again?!?

My cramps have only gotten worse.

I have been extremely stressed out between getting Occupy Tacoma off the ground and having my youngest test me on a daily basis.

Is this normal under stress or should I be concerned??

When I was younger I didnt ever have a normal period. But since I got it back after having my youngest it has been like clock work(even when I was at my worst with my eating disorder)...So this is freaking me out.

Thank in advance:)

What can I do next?

Libby:

I think it is due to stress. You've been under a lot lately.

Please don't freak out. That stress will only make it worse. Make sure you are hydrated.

If you start bleeding again, place a call to your doctor to see if you can be seen.

I think it's fairly "normal" to have an irregular period or two throughout your life. Now, if it's VERY heavy, or long lasting, I would def follow up on it.

All I know is I'm 47 and I'm SO ready for this to be O-V-E-R! But regular as the 3:00 train. Sigh.

Stress used to do really crazy things with my period. Actually that's how I would know; my period was my barometer for when I was stressed out.
With menopause I've LOST that barometer dangit! I think it's turned into weight gain instead. Pisses me off!

You might want to have your doctor check your thyroid levels. Having too low of thyroid levels can cause you to have your period more often. I kind of ignored my too-frequent periods until it became absolutely obnoxious (as in, it never stopped and was SUPER heavy), but it turned out that my thyroid was totally out of whack. It has not been a very big deal to correct it (just medication, no major side effects). I also noticed that along with my period happening more often and heavier, that I had headaches, had a very hard time dealing with stress, felt tired all the time, and felt cold all the time. However, a lot of people have low thyroid with no symptoms at all. So... probably worth checking it out. It's not an emergency, just something to check the next time you're having blood tests done anyway.

BTW, good for you for Occupying Tacoma! ;) You go, girl!!
