Period Changes

I am not sure if I should be concerned or when I should think about calling the doctor. I had a period in mid Nov, and than another on Feb 1st, and nothing since. Up until that point I have always been on a regular 30-32 day cycle. I had my pap done in Feb and all was fine. I have not lost or gained weight, I am only 33, and I am not stressed and I get plenty of rest. I know i am not prego, my husband had a vasectomy, and when I skipped Dec and Jan I took a test just to be sure. Does anyone have any ideas of what could be going on?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thanks ladies. I think I will give it to the end of the month and than I will call my doctor for a chat.

I think it's time to see the doctor. It could be early menopause or thyroid or other things that are treatable.

well, my mom went into menopause in her thirties. The doctors said it was too early so they gave her hormones. Really messed her up.

If you do go to the doctor and it is early menopause (not saying it is but it could be) then go with the flow. I personally wouldn't try to fix the problem by artifically getting a period because your body is different than anyone else's body so you have to do what is good for your body and what your body wants.

I personally have done that it and have not had hardly (barely) any problems whatsoever.

If I was you and I was starting having hot flashes I would go natural. Dr. Lee has a book out about natural progesterone so if you have to take progesterone I personally would take what he suggests and that is Progesterall.

Actually I personally would go to a naturopath and get a spit test to see where your hormones are or if you doctor goes natural and not put you on drugs then go to your doctor. This is for menopause.

This is IF you are going through menopause or peri-menopause which you probably wouldn't know unless you get the spit test.

But I would have it checked out either way just to be sure something else is not going on.

Take another test. Vasectomies don't always work

33 is WAY too early for menopause. I know it's possible to get early menopause (http://www.earlymenopause.com/symptoms.htm) but I'm not sure how much of that is actual menopause or just NORMAL.

I see a lot of those symptoms and think, wow, that sounds like someone who needs to change their diet... or maybe increase (or decrease) their exercise routine.

I've had irregular periods for over a year (and I'm on the pill) and I'm 30.

Problem is that you cannot gauge underlying stress. You don't know what your 20's did to you and what may be catching up to you. (for me, for instance, constantly overworking and then traumatic events in my life followed up with 2 rough pregnancies which both ended in c/s).

Yeah, that happens to a lot of people!!!!! But we all handle it differently.

For me, I began running and doing races of all kinds and pushing further into 1/2 marathons and marathons.

Even when you THINK you are fine, and that everything you're doing feels good to YOU, it's a different story to your hormones and your digestive system and all the organs etc.

I never felt "overwhelmed" or stressed but as it turns out I have adrenal fatigue -- which definitely caused the period fluctuations.

Long story short: investigate all the possibilities this could be. Get a few massages. Check out accupuncture. Look into changing your lifestyle (exercise less? or more?) or changing your diet... sometimes gluten can be a major factor in these things.

And I agree with a previous poster about getting your thyroid checked.

good luck.

I had pretty much the same issue. I asked my Dr and was told that once you starting hitting your mid-30's your cycle starts to change. I wouldn't worry too much if your pap was ok and you are feeling good.

You could be starting menopause. You should call your doctor to discuss.

Are you on a vegan diet? Have you been working harder than usual.
At the same age you are I began to have 2 day periods. The doctors thought I was not ovulating. The problem was my vegetarian diet. I am the wrong blood group to be a vegetarian.
