I am having a lot of Pelvic Pain when I try to step up into the tub or get into bed or the truck. I am not sure what it is. I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem. I went to the doctor yesterday, and we are doing an amnio on Monday to see if we can go ahead and take our baby on tuesday. I am in tremendous pain and would love some advice.

Thank you so much,
Becca

So What Happened?

Last night a friend of mine was dropping off some baby stuff, and saw how much pain I was in. She told me about a technique they learned in childbirth classes that the partner rubs on the nerves in the pelvis. Well I figured what can it hurt. We tried and after my hubby hit the spot it was like being on cloud nine. Im a little sore this morning, but hubby will re rub tonight as we both slept like champs last night.
Thanks for everyones response. I hope I can help someone else. We spoke with our doctor and we are having our daughter Tues. Im so happy that I am going to be out of pain. Thank you for everyones advice. I really appreciate it

I remember having that pain at the end while pregnant with all three of my kids. Some days it would be hard for me to even walk or move around. All the doctors told me was that it was just my body getting ready to deliver and everything down there is stretching. Just rest would be the best advice.

I had the same problem when I was carrying my daughter. but my was much earlier. I think I was 5months or 6. She had strained my peliv muscle. After I had her it took a few months for it to start feeling better. They told me to get a belly belt. You can try that for the remander of you time.,

i had the same problem in all 3 of my pregnancies but mine started when i was 3 months along, my dr's told me there was nothing that i could do about it. it had something to do with the ligaments in my hips being too loose and putting pressure on my sciatic nerves. i know thats horrible news but i go away pretty fast after you have the baby. i hope your dr. is nicer than mine is and lets you have the baby a little early. congrats:)

I believe your pelvic pain is caused by a thinning out in your muscular skeleton. Do recall when you had your 3 year old if she dropped rapidly while you were in labor with her? If you had an epidural you probably wouldn't have noticed.
I had my second child without any anesthesia. I was 3 inches dialated and the baby was at a -2 position when I first went to the hospital and they sent me back home. About 8 hours later as I was headed to the bathroom, I felt something like a rip accompanied by a very intense pain in my pelvic area close to my left groin. I told my husband I was in too much pain to stay home and wait any longer. By the time I got to labor and delivery I was 6 centimeters dialated and the baby was at a position of +1. By the time the anesthesiologist got there I was at 8 centimeters so they wouldn't give me anything.
Once the baby was out, I had no problems with my pelvic area until my baby turned about 1 and 1/2 years old. At first the doctor referred me to surgery assuming I had a hernia. But the surgeon referred me to physical therapy because he didn't feel a bulge. After 2 months of physical therapy I was back to running two miles nonstop. It wasn't until 2 years later when I was about 7 months pregnant with my third child, that that area started to bother me again. I just stayed in bed this that time and once my son was out I was okay until he was about a year old. I had to just live with it this time because my husband had gotten out of the service and I couldn't afford physical therapy.

Hi R.,
I also experienced extreme pelvic/hip pain towards the end of my last 2 pregnancies. It came to the point where I couldn't even lift my leg a few inches off the ground to put my pants on, it hurt so much. I attributed it to the baby getting into position for birth and my pelvis trying to accomodate! It is awful pain, I know. Unfortunately, the only thing that stopped it was giving birth. It will be amazing, though, when you stand and walk for the first time after you deliver- to not feel that pain- you'll feel like a new woman.
Good luck and congratulations on the new addition!

It is just normal end of pregnancy pressure. It usually means baby is settling and getting ready to come out. It usually isn't anything to worry about either. Hope you can get some relief soon.

It could very well be that your baby is just dropped so much that you are feeling the pressure.

Well first of all Congrats on the new baby!
I didnt really have pelvic pain ,but I did have hip pain and my tailbone hurt all the time. It could be caused from the same thing. My doc told me it was just preasure from being pregnant. It must really be awful nnot neing able to get into the tub That is the only way that I could get my pain to go away. I would see if your Dr would let you use a heating pad. That also helped me. Well good luck and I hope that Imight have helped in some way.
