Hi there,

We will be having our little one with in this next month. We have 2 doctors that we are interested in interviewing, but would love some other names ( and reasons for choosing) a Dallas ( we live in downtown, so the closer the better) peditricains.

Thanks,

What can I do next?

We were very happy with Malcolm Davidson and my SIL used Bergman at Medical Cities. Experienced. Obviously like kids. Could always get in when we needed them and nurse was happy to talk to us on the phone. I was sent there by a neurologist..... that that was a good reference.

I take my 3 to Dr Somer Curtis at POD (see the FB page and the webpage). Been seing her for 7 years now. She is wonderful. She is very smart and clear - I feel so confident with her. The office is very welcoming too. Dr Curtis is #1.

Our kids go to Pediatricians of Dallas across from Presby Dallas. Our specific doctor is Somer Curtis, but I've heard great things about Joe Neely and Karen Halsell too. I love the staff there - nurses and PAs are great and they are so, so, so responsive whenever I call with questions.
One of the things I love is that they almost always solve my questions by phone so that I don't have to drag 3 kids down there!

Congrats on the new baby!

We go to Somer Curtis at Pediatricians of Dallas. I really like her - she always takes time to answer your questions (you never feel rushed) and we have always been able to get in quickly if needed. I also like that she is part of a bigger practice as a couple of times she wasn't in the office but we were able to get in to one of the other doctors right away. I have several friends who also go to this practice - two of them go to Dr. Halsell and really like her as well. Good luck!

Not sure how far you want to drive, but we use Dr Straughn at Forest Lane Pediatrics (http://forestlanepediatrics.com - at Medical City). We have friends that use Dr Blair and Dr McGonnell in the same practice, and we all love our doctors. Dr Straughn is pretty laid back, and doesn't just walk in and start grabbing your child. He sits back, waits for the child to warm up, then explains everything he is going to do to the parent and child. They have a well waiting room and a sick waiting room, which I really appreciated when walking in with a newborn. There has never been a long wait, and they're really good about staying on schedule. If you have any other questions, just let me know!
