I'm looking for a pediatrician who will let me do an interview and allows patients to delay vaccinations. I'm willing to travel some, but I live in Matawan.

Thanks!

Most doctors will allow you to delay vaccine schedules. Because your child is still getting the vaccines, just at a different rate. I live in Arizona, so I have no clue on where you are at. But just speaking from experience with 2 of my children who have had delayed vaccines, most docs don't have issues with it. My doctor doesn't LIKE it, but she does it. :)

We go to Dr Mohan in Holmdel and she had no problem with us going slow on the vaccines. Her number is ###-###-####

No pediatrician can force you to have your child vaccinated "on schedule." So far, we still have the right as parents to determine if and when we will vaccinate: you just have to know what you want and not succumb to the pressure that some peds will put on you. I've delayed vaccines and opted out of some with my last two children and they have both been way, way healthier than my other kids. My peds don't necessarily like it, but as long as I am firm, they do it my way. And if a ped won't let you do an interview, that answers the question of whether you want that one! If there's one thing I've learned from experience, it's that I am the one who is ultimately going to make these decsions for my child, and I've got to be assertive, because there's a lot of pressure to do things the "normal" way. So be strong! Good luck.

Even though they may try to push the vaccines, you have the right as a parent to decide which if any vaccines you want your child to have. We have delayed most with our children, and most likely will not have them done at all. I really don't care what the pedi thinks. Actually, I've found it's the nurses who get bent out of shape more than the Dr's.

I live in michigan so I cant answer for your area.. but I sign for each and every vaccine.. the dr is no "allowing' me to delay..

the dr says the recommended vaccines at each visit and I say which ones I want..

I do get most vaccines.. I did not get chicken pox shot.... ( I hope they get the disease..) If they dont I will vaccinate at about 10 years.. I did not and will not get hep A shot.. there is no risk of that disease for kids that are not visitng 3rd world countries.

I delay MMR... my duaghter got the vaccine at 2 my son hasnt got it at 2 1/2

I start vaccines at 4 months.. and do the normal 2 4 and 6 months shots at 4 6 and 9 months..

You have every right to delay vaccines with ANY pediatrician. Make your wishes known from teh start to avoid any issues later on. I never gave my doctor a choice, and while he pushed the vaccine schedule on me at every appointment, I held my ground with our delayed schedule and never had a problem. Stick to your guns, no doctor can force a vaccine on your child.
