We're from Bowling Green. We started with Dr. Lemon but have started seeing Dr. Stephanie more. She is fantastic. She has a lot of experience, children of her own and is very real to talk to.
I'm looking for recommendations for a pediatrician for my daughter who will be born in November. What are some of the thinks you like and dislike about your pediatrician?

On the north side, Riverside Pediatric is a good practice. Jennifer White is great. They are off Olentangy near Sawmill. Easy to get in and out, many doctors at the practice means you can always see someone if your child is sick. You will have to check to make sure they can come to the hospital where you are delivering and of course whether or not they take your insurance. We were at Riverside for delivery for 2 daughters and she did them both. Good luck!

We are having a hard time finding a good pediatrican that we can trust because of the vaccine issue as well. The most important thing you can do for your child is educate before you vaccinate. 1 in 150 kids have Autism (and that number is rising quickly) 1 in every 96 boys born will get the diagnosis. This is not a coincidence or a genetic epidemic - it is environmental and vaccines play a role. I wish I had learned before it was too late.
I feel it is very important that you find a pediatrician who will listen to your questions and concerns and not treat you like you are an idiot or over-reacting, just because you have a question. I just changed my kids dr because of that problem. You have a right to not be made to feel stupid just for asking a question. Our new ped. is very kind and understanding and answers my questions and concerns with respect and clear answers, not just "it's nothing".
I love our pediatrician. We moved here from Columbus Ohio & my uncle was our pediatrician there, so when we looked for one here, i had high expectations. We see Dr. Joe Hannah at Riviera Pediatrics (in the Clarian North complex at 116th and Meridian). ###-###-####
I love our pediatrician. She is located in North Ridgeville. Her name is Dr. Mona Patel. Let me know if you would like her number. The office is usually on time with appointments. She normally gets us in on the same day if it is an illness situation. She is great with the kids and the adults too. She will talk about anything you need to without being judgemental. She also has a way about her to explain symptoms or side effects of something without freaking me out which was great when I was a first time parent. We have two children now that are almost exactly two years apart. When we went for the 1 and 3 year checkups, she scheduled both kids at the same time so we didn't have to make two trips. She is also willing to do this if I think they may have ear infections. It saves us a trip to the doctors and she only charges one office visit.
You didn't say where, so I am assuming any where near Allen Co. I love Dr. Rusk at Pediatric Associates Inc. However, I know a lot of people who don't like him. I have seen just about all of the docs in that practice and have never been disappointed. It is located in The Lutheran Hospital complex
We're in Fishers - we go to Dr. Marcia Norris at Northpoint Pediatrics. We also like Dr. Nanagas there too.
If you're in/near Columbus, IN; I'd go to Dr. Ben Gilmore.
I like that they have a Saturday/Sunday "walk-in clinic" if the kids get sick over the weekend. They've been very responsive to our needs with our kids.
Hi K.,
One thing I love about mine is that there is a nurse on call at all times. So I can call the office and speak to a nurse about my issue. She can then have the doctor call me back or recommend going to Urgent Care, etc. I found this to be the most helpful...being a new parent with lots of questions and concerns.
Thanks,
L.
Look for a ped who will let you make your own decisions about the health of your child especially about vaccines. A ped who says you will do all the vaccinations or you will not be seen here is not one I would work with. One that answers questions and lets you decide which ones, when and if they will be given is more open minded and working in the best interest of your family. Also ask about how many patients they schedule in an hour. Mine schedules 4 appointments an hour so there is always plenty of time to ask questions and never feel rushed. Last, I'd find out how they approach common things like ear infections. Do they whip out the prescription pad and think an antibiotic immediately is the right course or do they think wait and see is an option. Most ear infections clear themselves without drugs within a few days.
We no longer use a pediatrition because our kept insisting we vaccinate when I knew better. My twin boys now have autism. I didn't like the fact he didn't trust me to treat my kids naturally. I like our pediatric homeopath much better. She has been able to resolve all my boys issues, no matter what they are, quickly and without drugs.
Neighborhood Pediatrics in Lakewood ###-###-####. I like everything about them. What I like most about Sherry & Kathleen is that they really do care about the kids and also the parent(s). I have been going to them for my own kids for 7 1/2 yrs.
