I am looking to switch pediatricians since we recently moved and am wondering if anyone uses Vernon Hills Pediatric Associates. I am looking in the Gurnee area, and they have an office up here, and I also see they are "Lake Forest Hospital #1 Consumer Choice" which sounds good, but I'd like some feedback from anyone who has used them personally. Also if anyone has any different recommendations, I'd appreciate it greatly! I am about to have my third child and have put off finding a closer pediatrician till the last minute!!!

What can I do next?

I used VH Pediatric Associates for my twins from 1997 - 2002 (approx). I was pleased with Drs Libits (both of them), Dr Kriendler was good (but so busy it was difficult to get to see her), and only saw Dr Sapp once or twice. He was pretty new when we left. My favorite dr left the practice and is now in Grayslake, where we now go.
At VH Peds, I was not pleased with the way one of the drs handled my daughters chronic ear infections when she was 3 years old. It may have been lack of experience, but my daughter was traumatized and I couldn't even look in her ears without her screaming as if she were in pain after seeing the dr. My daughter was prescribed antibiotic after antibiotic, without ever verifying that the infection was indeed bacterial. The meds were one reason she was late being fully potty trained, as her poor system had to deal with all those antibiotics. I declined the 4th round of antibiotics, took an alternative approach, and when she went in for her annual check up, everything was fine. Since I could not be guaranteed not to see Dr Hurani, when I received notification that Dr Fireman opened his practice, we left and started going to Fairview Pediatrics.
My ony issue with fairview Pediatrics is that they seem to have a hard time keeping the insurance straight between primary and secondary, and I am often on the phone with them to get a bill straightened out since it wasn't filed properly, and I charged when I shouldn't. Unfortunately, that happens every year. But I like the drs, which is more important to me.
Good luck with your decision!

I have been using Vernon Hills Pediatrics since 2006 for my preemie daughter and I have been very pleased with the front office staff, the nurses and all the doctors themselves that we've seen. I think we have seen all of the doctors in the practice at one time or another, but Dr. Brian Sapp and Dr. Sherwood (male) are the two primaries we see. I live in Wisconsin and drive down to either location because we like this practice and Lake Forest Hospital.

Highly recommend.

We have been using Veron HIlls Pediatrics for the last 6 years. They are wonderful. They have always answered my questions and have taken the time to discuss issues with me. I would recommend them. We see Dr. Sapp mostly, but all the doctors have been helpful. They are also quick at getting appointments when you have a sick child.

Hi C.,
I started using VH Peds in July 2007, when I had my youngest son (of 3). All of the doctors that I have seen there are awesome, my favorite being Dr. Brian Sapp. They are great about getting you in the same day if you call with a concern. My youngest was even admitted to the hospital for a few days when we was about 2 months old and Dr. Sapp was really great about coming to check on him a lot during those few days.
I would totally recommend them!

Hi, C.! I see pediatricians in Vernon Hills, but a different group. Used to be known as ENH, is now North Shore. They are at Route 60 and Butterfield Road, and we see Dr. Elias Masri, primarily. He is wonderful with my son (now 26 months), and we've occasionally see other peds in the practice, and they are also good.

Here are details on the practice, in case you want to contact them:

ENH Medical Office Vernon Hills (North Shore University Health System)
830 W End Ct
Suite 500
Vernon Hills IL 60061
This location is wheelchair accessible.
