Has anyone seen Dr. David J. Martinez or Gary or Joseph Meckler in Albuquerque. Which dentist would you choose and why? I have United Concordia insurance and I am limited on who I can seen.

My pediatrician recommended David J. Martinez. She says he's the best in town. I haven't taken my son yet, but if that helps...

I haven't been to either of those dentists. My family uses Dr. Gardner and he is great. His staff is really friendly and personable. He is really great with my kid's and makes them feel comfortable. He also explains to my kid's what he is going to do before he does it so it doesn't freak out my kid's. I hope this helps. And we also have United Concordia.
I would choose meckler. I just asked a doc I use to work with the same thing and he actually sugested both. His child sees Meckler, so I think for that reason I would see Meckler.
My kids go to Gary Meckler. My kids are comfortable and look forward to their appointments. The staff is great!
I took my 3 year old to see Joseph Meckler and he was great! ?The office is specifically (sp?) decorated to appeal to children. It was a great experience for my 3 year old and he is actually looking forward to going back.
Kristen M., do you mind if I ask who your pediatrician is? I would absolutely choose Dr. Meckler over Dr. Martinez in a heartbeat. I actually just posted about Dr. Martinez on another thread. Here is what I wrote: I'm shocked and concerned to read that so many Albuquerque parents are trusting Dr. David Martinez with their children. What am I talking about? Try this: Call Dr. Martinez to get your child in on an urgent basis. When I called to schedule a 2 year old with a swollen face and PAIN, his staff (I spoke to 2 people) said they could schedule a consultation for October (I called in March!) Obviously, I couldn't wait that long (ummmm, my child would have DIED if I had! The infection could easily have spread to his brain!) I explained this to the front staff and asked who else they recommend. They rudely told me to check the phone book and that I could take October or leave it. I just can't believe that anyone who chooses Pediatric Dentistry as a specialty could have so little compassion. Shame on you, Dr. Martinez!
A question to you other moms who recommend Dr. Martinez: Has your child had a toothache or other urgent concern? How soon did Dr. Martinez see them? I would love to hear that he isn't the monster I've made him out to be in my mind, but deep down I think he is.
