I sold a package on ebay and it says the payment is complete and it is being transferred into my bank acct for withdrawl. Do I send the item now or wait to seethe money in my bank acct first? It takes 3-4 buisness days and wont be in there until next week. Also I cannot figure out how to get the shipping calculator available to the buyer to give the shipping rate where they live.

You wait until the money is in your account, the buyer can technically stop payment before then and you would out the item and no money.

Also remember to use "Delivery Confirmation" on the package so the buyer cannot dispute payment and say they never received the item.

i do lots of selling and everyday i go to the category of items in the "awaiting shipment" and those are the items that ebay has said cleared and are ready to ship.

It looks like your question has been answered, but I saw some misinformation down below.

If you request a signature, then that does imply that the package is insured. You would still need to add that feature & pay for it.

As long as the money has entered your PayPal account then you are safe to ship the item. The money is yours as soon as it gets into your PP account. You can then leave the money in there to accumulate or transfer to your bank account but either way the money is now yours. They cannot cancel their payment or get the money back out of your PayPal account once it is there.

You should send the package now if Ebay says it received the payment.

Angie:

I'm a tad confused...did you transfer the money to your bank account or are you waiting for an e-check to be processed?

If you sold something on ebay and the payment was processed through Paypal, go to your ebay page...it will tell you whether or not the payment was processed and you are good to ship the package.

You can also go to Paypal - not via any e-mail - but open a new tab - and go to paypal.com and see the status of the payment there. If it is processed and in your Paypal account, then ship it.

If they paid via e-check - it will show that it is still processing....and you will receive a notification from Paypal that the payment was successful and that the package is now okay to send.

If you are transferring what they paid you to your account - then they should not have to wait for that transfer to take place.

Please feel free to Inbox me with any questions you have...

IF by chance the buyer is NOT happy with the purchase and wants a refund - go to THAT transaction and then click on "refund" where you can refund one penny to the whole amount - doing it this way will get you some or all of the fees associated with that transaction refunded to you.

You CANNOT give them back more than they paid you - so if they want to return the item and you have stated you will pay return shipping, you can refund them their money, via their transaction and get all of your fees back and then "send" them money...

The shipping calculator is in the same place you post how much shipping is - flat rate (same to all customers) or via postal code - if you check postal code - then THEY have to put in their zip code..YOU put in the weight and the measurements of the box.

Try TurboLister instead of using the "sell now" button if you have more than 10 things to list - makes your life MUCH easier!!

EDIT:

Angie - if you requested a signature - then you mailed it with insurance...that's more expensive...paypal and ebay will accept the delivery confirmation transaction number should there be a dispute on whether or not it was shipped.

If the money is IN your PayPal account, then the transaction is complete as far as the buyer is concerned. Transferring to your bank account is a separate thing & should not hold up shipping.

Once you see the money in your paypal account, it's good to go. Also, the shipping should have been included in the invoice. They should have already paid for the shipping when they paid you on paypal. Good luck!

Once the money is in your paypal account you ship ASAP. If you choose to send it to your bank account that has no bearing on the auction. Ebay has gotten INSANE with rules and regulations anymore. We are power sellers and know this all too well. If you get poor marks on shipping slow they will put all sorts of restrictions on you. Everything from how many items you can list to shutting down your account. They only want really good sellers anymore because alot of the previous fraud and such has scared off buyers so it's a buyers market anymore. Buyers know this alot of the time too!

So send that item off and don't don't don't over charge on shipping. They'll give you bad marks and I know soooooooooo many people anymore, even power sellers, that got banned for just high priced shipping, slow shipping etc.

Good luck!

Oh and always get a delivery confirmation. It is the ONLY thing ebay accepts anymore to prove an item was shipped should the buyer say they didn't receive the item. It's actually a big scam going on. Some buyers know that if there is no delivery confirmation and they claim they didn't get it ebay will automatically find in their favor and on top of getting the item from you they'll get their money back. So ALWAYS get delivery confirmation on everything that is sent. It's the only proof ebay will take anymore. They don't even care to see your receipt like they use to.
