Help! I am looking for part time child care(in home or at a facility) twice a week for my 5 mo old. 10 30 am until 6 30 pm. All the places I've called only offer full time for that age. I am in uptown Dallas(near downtown) but will drive as far as I need to do as long as I can drop off and pick up before or after rush hr traffic. Thank u!!

You might try The Shepherd School on Swiss at St. Joseph. It's very convenient to uptown/downtown and near Baylor Hospital. My 4 year old goes there and I know they offer part time care. Just not sure about the babies. However, it wouldn't hurt to call and ask. The director is Elizabeth Chavez.

The problem you are up against is that most places require and infant to have their own crib- so they have to charge for full time no matter what. Ideally you could switch your hours to coincide with a Mothers Day out program. Some places will also let you and another person split the days, but you and the other person have to come w/ that particular arrangement in mind.
I faced the same dilemma when my oldest was born and I was going back to work 3 days a week.

I am at Frankford/Tollway, kind of far from you, but you might work in North Dallas. My hours are 8am to 6pm. I am available part-time and registered with the state to provide childcare in my home. I can provide references.
