Palm Treo Vs. Blackberry

To those of you that are a bit more tech savvy than me . . . which do you guys prefer, the Palm Treo series or the Blackberry? I have been a Palm user for years, and now have the Treo 650. It seems like Blackberry has sleeker phone/pda's, so I am considering making the switch. My hesitation is that obviously, I'd have to re-enter everything . . contacts, events, etc., since I'm assuming the software is not compatible. Just want to find out what others have experienced, your preference, and why.

What can I do next?

I have a Treo and my huby has a Blackberry. He loves his BB, but it doesn't have a camera on it. Yikes! I would never want a phone without a camera. I have 2 little boys and I always am taking pics of them with my phone and showing them off to my family, friends, and co-workers.

I have ordered phone equipment for my teams at work, and the majority like the Blackberry much better than the Treo. Of course, one thing to be mindful of if it is an issue is international travel. Treo and Cingular phones have international capability if you're overseas. If you are not planning on traveling then this will not be an issue for you.

I love my Treo. My main reasons for not switching to a Blackberry are the lack of programs currently available for the Blackberry. I have a Weight Watchers program, camera/video, and a variety of games and programs that are Palm specific. But it sounds like Blackberry is slowly catching up to Palm, so that may not be a big issue later. I may consider changing later on once the programs are comparable.

That said, everyone I know with a Blackberry seems to love theirs.

I made the switch from the Treo 650 to the blackberry and absolutely love it. I have the Pearl. It is much smaller, it is easy to use, and I can hear a lot better on it. All of your contacts, events, etc are transferable you will not have to reenter them. I did not like the Palm because it was touch screen so my ear ring hung up on people all of the time, the sound was awful, speaker was horrible. I have not had any of those issues with my Pearl. The only issue I do have is not being able to read excel or word files from email. For some reason they are not compatible like they were on my Palm. For me the pro's definitely out weight the only 1 con. Good luck

I have the Treo and my husband has the Blackberry. I love the programs available for my Treo, but the phone is horrible! My husband never seems to have the trouble hearing, being heard or missing calls like I do. I'm considering getting another (cheap) phone and just using the Treo as an organizer.

Can't believe no one has mentioned the iphone. It syncs up automatically--even easier if you have a mac. My husband had both the treo and backberry and he says he will never touch those again since he got his iphone. I don't do as much as him but I love mine too!
I love it because it so easy; you can view the voice messages and pick what you want to listen too, your ipod and email, internet and everything else is right there.
It just rocks!

My husband swears by his Blackberry - so much that I actually call it a "crackberry" - it is quite addictive and hard to put down because you can do so much with it! I actually had to set Blackberry "restrictions" in our house - it is so easy for him to check and respond to e-mail, etc. that it was cutting in on our family time! I applaud you for organizing your life!
