Has anyone tried the Paleo diet/lifestyle? If so what do you think about it? Any resources you can throw my way?

What can I do next?

my brother did this diet and lost a ton of weight, but gained it all back and more. He tried again, lost a bunch again and gained it all back again. the problem he seems to have is the paleo is to restrictive and just not sustainable for a long time. At first he really liked it because he did loose weight but as soon as he got to ideal weight and started slowly introducing other foods back into his diet he started gaining quickly. unfortunately, I don't have any resources for you.

good luck in whatever you decide.

My husband did the Paleo diet when he participated in a Crossfit bootcamp (me and the girls were out of state for a month). He loved it and did lose weight the month he participated in the bootcamp. It is extremely restrictive if you choose to go 80%-100% Paleo. No beans of any kind, no corn/wheat, no rice, no milk...and so on.

From mynpoint of view (the meal planner/grocery shopping/cooking) it can be EXPENSIVE! If I had cooked the way my husband wanted, 100% Paleo) it would have sent our grocery budget to well over $1000 a month for a family of four at the Commissary.

The Everyday Paleo cookbook has some great recipes in it and we have incorporated several principals of the Paleo diet into our eating habits. We are eating even more healthy now but just don't consider ourselves Paleo.

I did this diet and lost 30Lbs in about 2 months. I have not gained a pound back, if anything I have maintained my weight. Is all how you eat and when you introduced foods. You are really never supposed to go back into eating process foods. I still eat Paleo about 85% to 90% of the time. What helped me was buying the paleo cooking book: Everyday Paleo. I love the recipes, fast, easy and most of them under 30min. Good luck!
