My son has the same issues. It has gotten better over time but, I tried giving him a bananna a day and that seemed to help. I did use tylenol for the pain from time to time as well as massaging the feet and legs. Good luck.

Most likely growing pains. But my daughter suffers from restless leg syndrome too. It only happens at night and it occurs if she's over tired or hasn't had enough fluids to drink during the day.

Because of his age, I would say these are normal growing pains. My son went through a few weeks of this when he was your sons age. If there are other symptoms, call your doctor. But if this is the only complaint, help him feel as comfortable as possible. Best wishes

It is probably growing pains. If it is not all the time then I would say an xray is a little extreme. If it does hurt to move or the pain is all the time or there is redness or swelling then yes pediatrician and xray.
If it is just at night then it is most likely growing pains and you can give a children's multi vitamin. "Growing pains" are very common in this age group. My daughter gets them several times per week.

I would think at this age it's growing pains. My kids get them too but I don't give any pain killers. Call the Dr or nurse and ask to see what they suggest.

It is probably growing pains. Doctors think this occurs mostly at night because that's when bone growth and stretching of surrounding tissues happens. My grandson gets this during growth spurts (tall boy!). My son-in-law also experienced spells of intense growing pains as a child.

Children's tylenol, warm compresses and gentle massage can all be helpful.

I agree with those who say growing pains, but few of us here are medically trained. Without knowing all the details, we really can't give advice that is credible.

Please call his pediatrician and see if you can make an appointment just to be sure. It could also be something like tendonitis or a side effect from a medication.

Good luck.

go get his leg/foot xrayed. it won't hurt him and it will rule out any problems with the bones. call your pediatrician and ask them to send your son for the xray. you will be in and out if your doctor asks a radiology center to do the xrays. a chiropractor can also request these to be done. good luck!

You need to take him to the doctor to rule out a spinal tumor. Yes, it is very unlikely but you need to make sure. Let us know.

He could be having leg cramps.. my nephew had the same troubles. Drink more water, and also look into the shoes he is wearing. Does he have flat feet? Adding calcium and magnesium to his diet will also help the muscles spasms. Here are some chewables that taste like oranges and are guaranteed safe with no harmful substances. http://shop.usana.com/shop/cart/ProductDetails?ProductID=...
Hope he feels better soon!
