Page a Day Calendars

For Christmas I received a Modern Family Page a Day Calendar. I like the show so I thought it was a great gift . That is until I cracked it open and ripped off the first page and received blank stares from my family. Apparently they think it should be left in tact, defeating the whole purpose of it as a calendar. When I mentioned this they thought it would be nice if I kept all the pages in the box. Really? Thanks for the gift of clutter. Now if there was a really great quote I'd be apt to save the page but EVERY page? (This is Modern Family not the Big Bang Theory...just kidding!) I'm hoping maybe as time passes they'll forget about it and I can pitch the box of pages and I won't look like the ungrateful gift recipient I felt like when they stared at me blankly.

So what do you do with the pages from your page a day calendar?

What can I do next?

This is funny. I always buy the page a day calendars for my kids and I have to fight with my daughter to throw the pages away...but she's 12. You're an adult. Toss them. Also, once they give you a gift, they lose the right to tell you how to use it!!

Give them the box of pages for Christmas next year... as a 'joke'. Really, if you want to use to paper to wipe your butt or to start a fire or use it as wallpaper, it's your gift, so your choice.

As for us, I had one years ago. I saved maybe 4 or 5 pages that were hilarious, everything else was recycled... where paper should be.

Is it their calendar too? I don't see what the big deal is. It's your calendar to do what you want? I throw away my calendars when I'm finished. It's not a page a day calendar but I don't keep old calendars. It seems like the pages would be in the way when you're trying to look at the day. I'd ignore their blank stares and comments. They'll get over it, unless the calendar belongs to them too, then maybe you can negotiate with them. =)

Oh my gosh! As I was reading, I was thinking, I'd only keep every page if it was from Big Bang Theory lol! What a silly thing for your family to think, why WOULDN'T you rip off each day? Silly...

I got 2 last year. I threw out the pages each day. I quoted the good ones on my fb page or mailed it to someone it reminded me of.

I rip off the current page at the end of each work day and file it in the circular. Unless it's really really good, and then it goes on the fridge at work.

Seriously? How do they expect you to see current day if you don't rip them off? There are perpetual calendars that can be used for any year that have a spiral at the top and you just turn the page. Maybe this is what they are thinking of. But that doesn't sound like what you have. Use them for scrap paper or toss them!
