I've never been to either one of them. Are they different? I don't mind the drive - but just wondering if I should or just stay close to home.
We went to the one in Richardson. We were basically over it in 15 minutes....not too much to do. They need a hay maze or something more for the little ones to climb and run on. The open field barely had any pumpkins on it - probably due to school groups. The one good photo opportunity is on the haywagon but only 1 family at a time type thing.
We went to a pumpkin patch in Denison last year and really enjoyed it. It's a bit of a drive from Richardson/Plano, but they had a nice patch, lots of hay bales for kids to climb, etc. We are planning to go again this year. Their link is elvesfarm.com. They also have Christmas Trees, but we haven't been there for a tree.
My 2 yr old son and I just went to the one in Richardson this week and he really enjoyed it. I have heard the Pumpkin Patch in Little Elm is worth the drive.
My moms group went to the Owens Richardson one last week, and the toddlers had a lot of fun. We are planning on going to the Celina one this week. The Flower Mound one is supposed to be great too.
The one in Richardson was pretty neat...petting zoo(buffalo, long horns, mini ponies, sheep, goats, donkeys, horses), free hotdogs w/ admission, free animal feed w/ admission, hay ride, mini cart - trackter ride, and admission is 6$ over 2yr (I don't know if that includes adults?). Most pumpkins are 3$...smaller ones are less and really big ones are more.
We went to the Celina one yesterday...it was $7 for everyone (even my two year old). They had a little hayride, many photo opportunities and pumpkins sitting next to vines. Also, they gave you a cup of feed for the animals (cows, goats & sheep). It was fun for my girls.
I had a friend go to the pumpkin patch in Flower Mound today - the pics are amazing and I want to go! She said it was free - which sounds good to me.
