Ovulation - Huntsville,AL

According to my ovulation calculation and dates I should have ovulated starting the 22nd of this month, but I just acquired all the signs of ovulation on yesterday. Could my monitor be off or wrong? I kind of feel pregnant already, but I did get my period on the 12th of July. My boobs are extremely sore and they hardly ever get sore. My nipples only get sore if I am pregnant. Therefore this has only occurred about 2 times. What is going on? Any other moms experienced these problems?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thank you all for the info. I certainly hope I am either pregnant or at least ovulating. I lost a baby in March and my husband and I are eager to have another baby. It is just extremely different for me to have sore boobs. Oh, and I failed to mention that my last 3 periods were May 20, June15, July 12. SO I am wholly confused as to what my ovulation day would be. However,I was given the go ahead on 22 July.

If your LMP started on the 12th, it wouldn't be abnormal for you to ovulate now (14 days). Obviously, it depends on your own cycle, but ovulating now wouldn't be "late" necessarily.

I occasionally get those pregnancy symptoms around ovulation or PMS. They aren't typical for me and kind of freak me out, until I remember that I KNOW I'm not pregnant :)

Take a pregnancy test just in case your July 12th "period" wasn't a real period (a dollar store test is just as trustworthy as the expensive name brands). If it's negative, consider yourself fertile now. It's very possible you are ovulating late this month. If you are TTC, pay attention more to your body's signs of ovulation (egg white cervical mucus) than the calendar and you will be more likely to succeed. Stress, illness and a host of other factors can throw your cycle off. Midwife Mom

Well, you didn't explain your cycle fully, but in a 28 day cycle, you will ovulate on day 14 which would be July 26th not the 22nd. It is always 14 days before the start of your period...always! So, look at the length your cycles have been and then what's the next expected one since the 12th and go back 14 days and you'll get it.

And yes, I had extremely sore boobs the month I got pregnant and that has never happened before or after. Maybe you are prego. Congrats if you're trying!

We are currently TTC and my doctor told me flat-out that even with a "regular" 28 day cycle ovulation is most likley to occur on day 14, but could occur any time between days 12-16 meaning that you could have been "fertile" all weekend, including yesterday.

It's all just an "estimate" and my doctor encouraged us to go along with my body's signs of ovulation, not by my calculations.
