B.D.
If you were to call your pediatrician and explain the situation, would they maybe be able to give you a phone consultation?
We are overseas and me and my daughter came in contact with something not sure exactly what.
I was having diarrhea for an extended period of time and went to the doctor and they gave me antibiotics.
I seem to be doing fine but my daughter started complaining of stomach pain and pain in her vagina.
Took her to the local pediatrician and she gave me an antibiotic for her and another medicine for parasites.
They did a urine culture and it was fine.
But, it has been several days and she is still complaining her vagina hurts and she feels like she can't pee.
I give her sitz baths and have put baking soda and calendula tea in the water for her to sit in.
Nothing is helping and the pediatrician said it is from the parasites.
I just don't know I know back home her pediatrician would have ordered more tests and made sure everything looked ok down there.
We are heading home saturday but I just wondered if anyone has any suggestions on how to help her other than what we are doing.
I feel it is something more than the parasites as she has had many uti's in the past.
What else could be going on if anyone else has had any experience with something like this.
Thanks for any help I feel so helpless being out of my environment and not knowing what to do.

Take her BACK to a different Ped TODAY!
Call your Ped @ home, let him/her know what is happening perhaps he/she will be willing to set you up with a referral to a clinic/hospital where you are NOW instead of waiting for whatever is, 'cooking' to get further along by Saturday.
So scary because parasites are horrid creatures who invade the body in so many ways!
BEST!
A dose of antibiotics often results in an overgrowth of candidiasis bacteria (yeast infection).
You don't mention how old she is but I would let her get thoroughly checked out when you get home and keep her as comfortable as possible.
I often had uti's growing up but it was a result of being molested by a family member.
I'm not saying this is happening to your little girl be expect the unexpected.
It's only Tuesday -- you have another four days before you return. If she needs medication that is a LONG time to wait to get it started.
Go back and insist on another test for a UTI, especially because she has a history of UTIs. The first negative test could have been wrong -- it does happen! Also insist they test her for a vaginal infection; yes, young kids can get them. I don't know how old she is but she may be saying her vagina hurts when the pain is actually in the urinary tract and not the vagina; however, she also could have a vaginal infection that may not show up in a urine/UTI test. Be alert to the idea that she may have BOTH a UTI and a vaginal infection.
You may have to be the obnoxiously insistent American on this. Do not let the doctors fob you off or talk down to you and dismiss your concerns. I don't know where overseas you are, but did she see a general practitioner or a pediatrician? In some countries you cannot see a pediatrician except as a specialist, with a referral from a general practitioner (who may not be thrilled to give such a referral because like here, some health systems discourage sending patients to specialists). Push if you must. It would be better to get her onto antibiotics NOW rather than waiting another four or more days! That is a long time to delay antibiotics if they are what is needed. But be prepared to have to push for the tests. I have experience with overseas doctors and know you may have to just be the "pushy American" about this.
Is she drinking lots of water? Be sure she is even if she does not want to. But you know that already if you are familiar with UTIs.
Are you somewhere where they can do an ultrasound?
