Overnight Diapers - Somerville,NJ

Ok I need your recommendations for an overnight diaper! We are currently using Huggies Overnites, but more than half the time they leak out the front by the end of the night. Bad leaks - like change all the clothes and the crib sheet, not just a little wetness. What works well for everyone? Bonus points if it's low on fragrance!

ETA: He's 5 months, just about 6.

I've had the best luck with buying a size bigger for night time. My sons 24lbs and I put him in BJs brand size 5 at night which are big on him but it doesn't bother him and I almost never have leaks.

I used to use Pampers ultra, the 12 hour diapers others have mentioned. I found these to be the best.

I've used Huggies Overnight, Pampers Extra Protection and Pampers Dry baby on my son (who is now 10 months).

My preference is Pampers Extra Protection (but they only start in size 4)

I started with Dry Baby but once my son could roll over in his sleep these did not work anymore for night time. Then moved onto Huggies overnight since they started in size three, once we hit size 4 I tried both Huggies and Pampers extra protection. I am just a fan of pampers over huggies. The pampers aren't as bulky and just fit my son better.

Is your son on the borderline of two sizes? I noticed that once my son could fit in the next size we had to go up for overnight. Once he hit 22lbs we had to move up to size 4's even though he technically still fits in size 3's.

I have good luck with the Pamper's 12 hour dry. I use this day and night and we rarely have leak problems.

Do you change your child in the middle of the night? I know my children still got up a few times per night to nurse at that age, so I always changed them at that time. In my experience, no diaper is meant to be an "overnight" diaper, but my kids were heavy wetters, too. I was also going to ask if you think you might need to use a larger size at night? I know this is a frustrating issue, but it is really worth it to change your little man at least once during the night. Good luck :D

We have used the Huggies Overnights for a year and a half. We love them and have not had any problems with them at all. We even give our daughter milk about 30 mins before bed.

Pampers also makes Extra Protection diapers that are for 12 hours or so...

Depend on the child's age, but have you tried the GoodNites? Those are 10x better than the regular overnight diapers. We've used size small on our daughter since she was two. They hold a ton and never leak. They're designed for older kids but the small does fit younger ones.

Go to Target and buy a couple pairs of the old fashioned training pants, cloth on the inside and plastic on the out side, put it over the diaper at night see if it works. You did not mention the age of the child, but if a little older, cut back on the liquids before bed time. J.

I have not tried this yet, but every night before bed, my SIL double diapers my niece. May sound crazy, but apparantly it works. It's an option if you can't find one that works. Good Luck!

Pampers Cruisers with Ultra Absorbency (not the dry max). I don't know if they come in the size you need, but I'm pretty sure they should. They sell them at BJ's or online.

I'd really recommend fleece or wool covers, they are wonderful. Put one over the diaper. You can also put on fleece jammies, but you would wash after each wear. With wool, hand wash/air dry once every 3 weeks believe it or not. Would need 2 covers as they take quite some time to dry.

I tried the Huggies with my daughter and they use to leak all the time so we change to the Pampers (the ones that are good for 12 hours) and they are great. At least for us they have been much much better and they haven't leak once. Hope this helps.
