Hmmm...
I am allergic to latex. I was not always allergic; the sensitivity develops due to repeated exposure and gets worse after each incident of exposure. I no longer have the simple 'rash reaction', it now triggers flu-like symptoms and interferes with my breathing (congestion/coughing, not anaphylactic shock yet). Like I said, the more exposure someone has, the greater the potential that they may develop a latex reaction. Here is some info on latex allergies in regard to children: http://www.cincinnatichildrens.org/health/info/allergy-as...
I would not purposefully expose a child to latex products.... I would get silicon pacifiers and silicon bottle nipples instead.
However, if you decide to go ahead and use the latex pacifiers, I would evaluate the integrity of the pacifier first... since over boiling may have weaken its integrity. You don't want pieces of it to tear or rip off while its being sucked. That could be a choking hazard.
