Thanks for taking the time to read this. I have a 4 year old son and a 2 1/2 year old daughter. I have spent a fortune on there clothes. Most of my daughters clothes come from Nordstroms and my sons clothes are all in excellent condition and to cute. My problem is I have bins and bins of clothes, onesies, burping clothes, etc. that I no longer need. We went back and forth about having a third but decided that two was best for us. I hate to give away all these clothes as they cost so much. Does anyone know of a good conginment store in the Cumberland, Ri area? And has anyone ever done a consignment before? I tried the Ebay thing but it cost more then my time. I was going to do a yard sale but at yardsales childrens clothes usually go for pennies and I spent $50 on some items each.
Please help me. We are in the process of trying to move and this is taking over our basement. The less I have to move the better...
There is a Children's Orchard on Rt 1 in Norwood that takes clothes on consignment. I believe that Children's Orchard is a chain, so you may be able to find one closer to home.

I believe that my friend just mentioned a new place in the building on Mendon Road that has Images Photography in it. I haven't been there yet, so I don't know the name.
There is also a place on Diamond Hill in Woonsocket (towards the Social Street area, not the plaza area).

FWIW, I just called the Seekonk Children's Orchard after seeing this post and they are taking selling appointments in April! Crazy! Does anyone have any other ideas for C. (and me)? :)
i have no idea about consignment shops in rhode island but unless you reallllllllllllly neeeeeed the money that the clothes could bring. it might be worth digging deep into your heart and donating them to a local shelter, or get in touch with a young mom or teen pregnancy birthing class and donate or there's an awesome sight called Free cycle, where you can list things you no longer need for free.and give them away an awesome way of going green or free cycling. i know that's not the answer you where looking for. but obviously you either love dressing the kids hehe or wanted to see them in very nice baby clothing so you bought the best. and how nice would it be to see someones baby who would be wearing stained clothing with holes and grossness on them in something nice and beautifull
You may want to try Craigslist & sell them as a lot.
A good way to save a few hundred dollars in a year for your kid's clothing budget is a site called GumdropSwap (http://gumdropswap.com). You can swap from anywhere in the US by sending the clothes your kids outgrow to this kids boutique in CT. They give you points to shop on the website and send you a box of clothes that fit your kids. It's great if you don't have time, patience or know how to do consignment, Ebay, craigslist etc.
