Outdoor October Wedding - What to Wear?

Hey gals! I am going to a wedding in 2 weeks and it will all be outdoors - ceremony and reception. I don't have any warm dresses or skirts. Would business casual be appropriate? I expect we will all be wearing coats too so maybe it doesn't really matter so much what I am wearing. Kids are welcomed, if that helps set the stage.

What can I do next?

I guess it would depend on how close you are with the wedding party. It is also hard this time of year because you just don't know what the weather will be but, depending again on where you are that could set the stage. If you had a simple dress or skirt with a jacket that would do. I say mix and match where you can. Again, taking in consideration that the wedding was not Black&White. Which of course would mean it was totally formal. So, take what you need and move from there. I hope I helped.

We had an outdoor October wedding and business casual was fine with us. Just would not reccommend showing up in jeans.

Business casual would totally work. I have seen plenty of people wear black dress pants, cute top and heels to weddings.

My son's outdoor wedding was in early May..about the same temp as October. We all had winter coats on because it was a cold snap. Wear a nice coat, buisness casual and you will be fine. Wow, someone has a lot of faith that the weather will be great in mid-October. God bless them on their wedding day.

All I can say is that we're going to an outdoor wedding/reception this weekend as well (not starting until 5pm) and I don't get it!!!! What??! I had to go out and get more clothes for my kids and i have no idea about me. If possible I would find out if there will be outdoor heaters, like those giant lamp heaters, before you make your decision. If they have those you could probably go without a coat so that may influence your decision. I think business casual would be fine, I mean what do they expect, right?!

I'm all for outdoor wedding, just not in the cold! ;)
