Does anyone have experience with the Frisco, Plano, or Allen locations of Our Children's House Baylor?

We are scheduled to start occupational therapy and speech therapy soon for my toddler.

I have a few questions and would love to talk with someone who has been there.

Thanks! :)

What can I do next?

Our daughter has been going for speech therapy for a few months now. Do you have a diagnosis for your toddler, or is it just general OT and ST that you'll be getting? Let me put it this way - they service so many needs, it might be more helpful to you if you talked to a mom whose child has similar issues as your child does.

Our daughter has ankle pronation, low muscle tone, and speech apraxia. She started walking on her own (after a few false starts) when she was 25.5 months old (6 months ago), and was diagnosed with apraxia at about the same time. If your child has any similar issues, then feel free to contact me directly and we can talk.

From a general perspective, though, I have been both happy and unhappy with Baylor's handling of our daughter. Overall, they are very professional (as they should be, for their rates you deserve only the best!)... But our first attempts at therapy weren't very satisfying, and we stopped seeing them for a couple of months until they located a speech pathologist who is now helping our daughter immensely...

My 5 month old just started physical therapy at the Allen location a few weeks ago for torticollis. I have been very happy with them so far. All of the moms I've talked to in the waiting area who have been going there longer seem very happy with it as well. The therapists all seem very encouraging and great with the children. Good luck!

I worked there as a tech for a short period of time and I have had several students receive therapy from one of the locations and all feedback has been positive. I wish I could give you more specific info, hopefully someone will be able to do that for you, but I have seen great outcomes from their therapies. If I had a child in need, this is definitely somewhere I would seek for assistance.

I have a daughter who has gone to the Allen location for about 6 months. We aren't going there anymore because of insurance issues. But I agree with the post that says you should talk to someone who has the same issues as your child. I think they are good at some things and not so good at others. And I will say the one thing I wish they would do is have someone who would coordinate and oversee all the different therapies a child receives there. My daugher did OT, PT and speech but it was really up to me to make sure the direction of those therapies was coordinated and was geared toward her specific needs. They are a really busy office. And it shows in some small ways. Hope that helps.
