Just wondering if any of you came over from another "mom" site, and how you enjoy this one?

What can I do next?

I have been on this site for years, but only this year started to ask more questions or respond to questions. I like all the regulars on here, they've been helpful!

I am also on another site and find it chaotic. Meaning, the posts aren't sorted by date/time rather by the amount of replies. It's hard to see what's new and what you've already read. It also seems to be a bit more trashy. Everyone complains about their spouses and overall seems like an unhappy site. I've tried to like it, but I just can't seem to.

I'm from the other site, too. Changed my name, though. I think those of you that are from there, though, will know who I am when I say that I think most of you tried to talk me out of leaving that other site a few days ago (and I changed my mind while I went to work on my book). (And if that isn't a good enough clue for you, send me a message and I'll give you my name there. :D)

@ Christy
There is a migration due to lack of transparency. Inconsistent TOS enforcement. Protection of new members over established members (even if the new members are trolling about sexual misconduct with children) and various other issues.

To discover the name of the site google my SN. It's pretty easy to figure out.

ETA: @ Gracie
people troll here about sex and kids and the admins are ok with it?
that is my biggest complaint.

This format is going to take a while to get used to. We can only edit our responses?
Not add new ones?

I visit this one and another favorite site of mine, which shall remain unnamed because Mamapedia admins don't like competition and will ban users who use that other site.

I like the other site because it hasn't been overrun by roaches (advertisements), and because real conversations are allowed, even if they're not PC.

Yeah, you can't respond back like a forum, which makes this site kind of strange and old fashioned. It hasn't changed in the....8 years that I've been a member.

ETA: Did some of you come over here from the other mom's site together? Have a falling out with an admin or get banned or something? WTH?

Hi 222, I came too. The jury is still out on how well I like this site. Still keeping my account on the other "mom" site just in case.

I'm on a few different ones and moderate on 2 of them. Another one I was on closed down and we now have a group on FB, I also moderated on that one.

I was on this one when it had another name, drifted away and then came back.

I like it here.

I'm here from over there lol

Don't know if I like that you can carry on a convo by responding back and forth.

Christy Lee: There has been a lot of "uprooting" by admins and a lot of members are leaving.

Hey 222,

I guess I'm reaquainting myself with this site. I haven't been here since 2009/1010 when I left here for that other mom site you mentioned.

I'm so lost and confused trying to figure everything out.

I was on iVillage for many years and mostly used the "expecting club" boards during my last three pregnancies. Now that I'm past that phase in my life, I like that here, it's just one big mish-mash of topics, ages, and personalities. I am FB friends with several of the women from my last expecting club from there and we've been talking to each other online for more than 8 years now, which is pretty cool.

Anyway...welcome aboard to the new users! I hope you find this place as interesting, entertaining and helpful as I have.
