Organization Junkies - Does This Exist?

I am reorganizing my craft/game/art supply closet and need a bunch of clear bins with lids (roughly the size of a shoe box - 1 gallon containers). I have some Sterilite brand ones that are fine, except the sides slant inward, which leaves wasted space between them when they are all stacked together. Where can I get containers that don't slant and will allow me to use every inch of space effectively?

Thank you!

What can I do next?

I just found some bins like the ones you are describing at Wal-mart. It is now my sock, bra, and panty holder (Don't have a dresser). Works way better than the plastic bag I was using! :)

What about plastic shoeboxes ? The ones I have I think are straight sided. I probably got them at the Dollar Tree or Wal Mart.

Yes, I actually have a TON in my closet of the shoe box containers. They are exactly the size of a shoebox only plastic. Dollar Stores and Walmart have them - you could even check online.

I have good luck finding that kind of thing at big lots and at dollar general

First, if you add up all that wasted space you probably wouldn't have room to fit another whole shoe box in there, because the width will technically still be the same.

If you have a Dollar Tree, check there. I know I got straight edged boxes somewhere, and I'm fairly sure they came from a dollar store of some type...it would've been there, or Family Dollar. That was a very long time ago, though!

Not sure if you can go just a tad bigger on your storage boxes, but we recently bought a really nice set of 10 (all the same size, a bit bigger than a shoe box) from Costco for about $18. They are really good quality with nice snap on lids. We have used most of them to organize my sons toys. I think they also had a set of smaller (more like shoe box size) storage containers. There were more boxes and the price was about $20 or so.

I would think that most probably are going to slant a little just so they can also be stacked inside of one another.

Maybe some tupperware/food storage type of container might slant less?

2 places I would check would be IKEA and the Container store.
