Organic Food

I belong to a food coop in Valparaiso and you can get tons of organic food in bulk. Here is the e-mail of the woman who organizes it: ____@____.com. There is a store called Herb Thyme in Crown Point. It is really small, but has meat and dairy. I also know that the Meijer in Merrillville (possible Highland also) is carrying more organic, but I am not sure if that includes meat/dairy. Maybe worth a try. Sometime later this year they are putting a Trader Joe in Highland/Schererville (near Omni 41). Hope this helps!

meijer is the best place around here that i've found not to expensive. and a better selection than most.

There is a Organic and Natural Food Store in Valpo call Au Natural Market. It is located on Lincolnway in Valpo (not sure of the exact address. I have several friends that shop there and LOVE it.

My husband and I discovered this website. www.indianafarmdirect.com and you can find meat and produce, organic and locally grown. I hope this helps! If you need others, all we did was googled "organic food in northwest indiana" and others came up.

The Meijer in Highland has a much bigger selection of Organic Foods than the one in Merrillville. The WiseWay in Crown Point has a nice organic section also. I hope the response about an incoming Trader Joe's is true. I'm tired of driving into the city just to go there. Hope this helps!!

Farm Direct meat is a small local company that has bulk
pricing on meats. I believe they also have some dairy resources.
