Need some opinions..... We are trying to plan a vacation with our 3 year old. We are thinking about going to Disney World in October. I'm not sure if he is too young at this point but there are not many other places we can think of that cater to both children and adults. My son is a typical active toddler and there is no way a relaxing beach vacation is going to work. We did a cruise last year and although it was fun, we want to wait a few year to do this again. Beaches is waaayyy out of our price range right now. Any insight would be appreciated.

What can I do next?

K.,

I took my daughter to Disneyland when she was 2 for the first time then both her and my son again when she was 4 and he was 2. They LOVE Disneyland, however we lived in California. It really depends on your son, my son has always been pretty mature and still remembers everything from that visit 2 years ago! I think he would have a blast but I would recommend Disneyland, its much better because you dont have to go to 4 parks, so its easier for the smaller children.

I would think a 3 year old would love it. Seeing the characters, and I'm sure there is a lot to do with little kids. However, I would think he wouldn't be able to or want to ride some of the bigger stuff. I went as a child when I was 10, but we have yet to take our kids. Why don't you try Six Flags and see how he is at amusement parks before you spend a lot of money to go to Florida? Sea World might also be a fun place to try. We took our son there when he was 1 1/2 and he was way too young to really enjoy it. I think at 3 they would love the animal shows. Those might be less expensive places to try out. If you do decide on Disney, I think that would be tons of fun too. I'd love to take my boys there soon. Universal is also lots of fun. I went there with my husband in California when we were there, and we know if we go to Orlando, we have to take them there as they love those characters too - Spider-man, Spongebob, Shrek, Hulk . . .

We have a 19 month old little girl that has been to Disney 3 times already! She really really enjoys it. 3 is a great age to go. The biggest thing for our daughter was that we read her lots of books with all of the characters she would see at parks. So when she saw all of them she got so excited. At 3 they can ride a majority of the rides. Since there are 4 parks to choose from you have lots of options. if you go to www.Disneyworld.com you can look up maps that are specifically for toddlers. In fact you can even order customized maps that they will send to you for free. Animal Kingdom has great shows that are geared towards things kids love-Animals-also there are tons of animals to see. Magic Kingdom of course has lots for the little ones. Hollywood studios has an entire section of kid friendly stuff too. Epcot is not as kid friendly, but if you want to meet the characters in the shortest lines that is the place to go! I definately recommend it. There is so much to do you couldnt possibly do it all in one trip

Mine was 26 months when we took him and it was awsome!!! We want to take him back this year or next. He will be 3 in Aug. We went last Oct let me tell you its a great time to go!! Hardly any crowds. The best time we had was seeing his reaction to all the characters, he would go up and hug their legs!! It was priceless!! We stayed at Floridian which was a great on property hotel for toddlers. It was so convient with the little one. Have a blast!!!

My dd had just turned 3 when we went, and for her it was magical!! she was soooo in love with everything - it was the best thing to experience it with her. My other 2 kids were 7 and 9 at the time. My dd who is now 5 1/2 has asked nearly every day since coming back, when will we go again? - Have a great time!!

We were in Florida in March for a family function and decided to spend two days at Disneyworld. The kids were 4 and 2 at the time, and I am so glad that we did it. It was a great experience and the kids had so much fun. The park was packed(florida school systems spring break) but I think Oct. is a great time to go. Have fun!

My 3 year old had a blast. I have a large family and my three year old was the one that had the most fun. I highly recommend taking a child at that age to Disneyworld because at that age it is still a very magical place.
