Opinions About Tonight...

Tonight my hubby and I are celebrating our 6 yr anniversary. We have been trying to conceive for 7 mo now and had two miscarriages in a row. I don't drink much, maybe once a month. I would like to have a couple of drinks tonight. It won't be much. Seriously, 3 is about my limit anymore. I ovulated Thur. Do you think there would be any harm having a couple of beers tonight? I mean there is no way of knowing if I am pregnant or not at this point. Opinions?

What can I do next?

Me personally I would not. We've been TTC for 3 yrs. When I had my 2nd miscarriage in 04, I had been drinking before I knew I was pregnant and I've always felt guilty like I caused that miscarriage.

You've already ovulated, so the egg is seperate from you and wouldn't be affected by your drinking. Even if you did drink tonight, it would take a few days to implant and only then would your drinking seriously affect it. Enjoy yourselves. Heavens knows many of us were conceived because or despite of a few cocktails. ;)

You will be fine, go and have fun!! If you ovulated on Thurs, then the baby would not even be implanted until a few more days. It takes a while before the baby will take any nurishment from you, they feed off the sack until they have the umbilicle cord.

Good luck!

I think that you would be fine having a couple of drinks tonight. We are seeing a fertility specialist and after we ovulate they always tell us to act like we are pregnant so not to risk any harm to a potential baby. They have never said anything about it before ovulation. My personal opinion is you would be fine..

Happy Anniversary and good luck with the baby =)

Having a few drinks is not going to cause you to miscarry so go enjoy yourself with your hubby and hopefully it will help you to relax a little tonight and enjoy yourself after going through some difficult times. Don't give up hope, I've had two miscarriages as well after my first born and went on to have two more healthy baby boys. Good luck to you and have a great time tonight!!

No I wouldn't worry too much about it. I got pregnant unexpectedly with my first and did not find out I was pregnant until I was 9 1/2 weeks along and I had been drinking the whole time. My son was fine. My dr even told me a couple glasses of wine would not hurt during pregnancy.

I wouldn't worry too much and have yourself a great time. With my first child, I didn't find out I was pregnant with him till I was 8 weeks...and I had been drinking and going out. At my first doctors appointment, my Doctor told me to not worry about what I did before that day because the baby will be fine. Plus having a glass of wine a day isn't gonna harm your child at all!!! My doctor said if I wanted to do that, it would be fine....you just can't over do it. So go out and have yourself a wonderful night! Happy Anniversary!

A couple of drinks will not make you miscarry, but if the stress and paranoia about drinking make you think it will then I would refrain. Relax and enjoy your anniversary!
